Exactly! Why not release the EP as it was meant to be, even if only as an online release?spider-man wrote:wow it's only half way witten? ouch.......might be awhile. ok really though, if he had outdown all those great songs that were going to be on the EP and stuff, GIVE THEM TO US!!!! online or something, it's not going on the album anyway so why waste it? let us have something now!

Yeah exactly. And if not an EP, I want to see lots of b-sides on the new album. I mean, I see albums everyday that has tons of b-sides and here Deryck apparently done a lot of songs he's not using for the album anymore so we need those at least as b-sides. I look at albums like Daughtry's new one and its like... wow, 7 different bonus tracks!susz41 wrote:Me either.phatass wrote:Cant wait for this new sum sound.
And yeah they should release an EP online or not. They shouldn't just waste all those songs that aren't going to be on the album!
I liked UH b-sides. They were good as bonus tracks, but didn't deserve to be on the album.Hentaiman wrote:Yeah exactly. And if not an EP, I want to see lots of b-sides on the new album. While Billy Talent's new one has only 2 bonus tracks, and some demos. Same for the Sums, they never have much b-sides, if at all, which sucks. On the other hand, the UH b-sides were so bland and boring.
Well, I don't think its the case, cuz Deryck talking about scrapping old stuff and just writing alot of new songs all over instead of all the ones he already wrote, so its not like demos of new songs or first stages and stuff.TomiT14 wrote:I liked UH b-sides. I highly doubt that those original EP songs would be b-sides of the new album. They are not completely different songs, they are just old versions of new songs.
How would have it sounded to have Subject To Change as a UH b-side?
That's why they should release the songs as an individual release. Otherwise they will be forgotten.
Deryck has said that all those 6 songs that were supposed to be released in the EP, he has explored them more and evolved them to better songs. So in other words, he used the 6 EP songs as a base, and now all of them have become better, but not necessarily totally different.Hentaiman wrote: Well, I don't think its the case, cuz Deryck talking about scrapping old stuff and just writing alot of new songs all over instead of all the ones he already wrote, so its not like demos of new songs or first stages and stuff.
I just don't remember Deryck talking about evolving the older songs into new stuff. Just remember him saying that he writes a lot more new songs that always the newer are better and he likes them better than the older stuff so he keeps writing and keeps scrapping old stuff. And those old stuff seemed like the best stuff ever from what he said in past blogs, so thats why he better release them in an EP or as b-sides, so they won't go to waste.TomiT14 wrote:Deryck has said that all those 6 songs that were supposed to be released in the EP, he has explored them more and evolved them to better songs. Subject To Change was a base to both Underclass Hero and No Reason. The similarity to No Reason wasn't that noticable, so it was a good add to Chuck B-sides.
So if those 6 EP songs have a same stage of similarity to the new songs then yeah, why not including them as new album b-sides. But if there are clear parts that have been re-used (e.g. Subject To Change chorus), then I don't see them being included as B-sides.
