Hey, they're in south Germany today. Would be a 5 hour ride and it's 6 A.M., I could still make it... think I would get backstage like that? Problem is I don't even have a ticket and I don't know the location at all.

Hopefully Nic doesn't get yelled at for a bunch of fans trying to get backstage cause they are from TNS. lolz.

Honestly, I would go there right now. But it's over 600 kilometers away.. that's at least 100€ for fuel plus I would have to get a quick oilchange for my car first. And then I would have to live the rest of the month off bread and water only.
I would be so bummed out if it was all for nothing..

Yeah, well, that's kind of a huge risk actually.

I was told being on the guest list, but I had a ticket as well. Turned out to be the same thing actually: entrance to the festival area, but not to the backstage.

I was extremely lucky the guy at the back entrance of the festival gave me two minutes to handle over that bottle of Jack. But it turned out into a whole day, amazingly enough.

why is everyone meeting sum 41?! ah I am so jealous. I want to post a story like this too in 2 months.

I called the place where they play tonight, but Sum 41 are not actually there yet, only the tech team, so I couldn't talk to Matt or Chris. They told me they will call me as soon as they know if we could meet up later. But I have to get going now if I want to be there on time, so no risk no fun. Wish me luck!

Damn, they blew me off - but in a very nice way.
Got a call-back from the German tour assistant lady and she told me they would like to but they arrived late and are now very short in time and have to leave immediately after the show, because of the next one in Czechia tomorrow.
And since she was kind enough to personally inform me, I didn't want to be pushy and said that it's fine. May be next time they're here, I think in November. I was barely on the road anyway, when she called me, so at least I was saved from wasting a lot of money and time on a pointless trip.

Yeah, she was cool and I could tell that she was sincere. Everyone I spoke to instantly tried to get me on the phone with Matt or Chris. Didn't expect that at all. Must be because I mentioned I was from the opposite side of the country.
