I think that sum 41's most recent song "always" might be a demo. I think it might be on the next album, only improved, and with a different sound. maybe, that's just my theory

Yeah, it won't be on the next album. It was recording during the UH sessions any way and the new album is going into a different, darker (hopefully better) direction.

hey whatever happened to that underclass hero b-side that cone sang?
Children of the beast embrace,
To scorn and the human race,
Consume the light that hugs the earth,
And aid the womb in giving birth,
To a group that will appear,
And guide you through this final year,
The dark armies then will come,
When the sum is 41

No, Deryck said it wasn't gonna be on the next album as well as the new songs won't sound like "Always".

The Cone B-Side is fucked in purgatory.

Deryck said that the new album wouldn't sound like "Always" I see what you're thinking though. Like "Subject To Change" becoming "Underclass Hero" But I do remember saying that this song won't be on the album. Still I wish they would give us one song, but I say we'll here something by Thanksgiving. Hopefully sooner!

Yeah if Cone said its going to be ready for like a Christmas release, I hope to have a single in like September at least, that would be great, and if the album would be out even sooner (like late Ocotber-early November) so maybe even a single in August, that would be cool.

Have you noticed that in the begging Deryck updated like every week, even twice a week? like getting us excited how he's writing like 20 new songs every day and how they recorded like 7 of them and how they are doing great, etc, etc, etc, and in the end he just stops updating and now god knows when this fuckin' album would be ready... I would rather have that EP they wanted to do in the first place, that was to be released in early 2009....

If I remember correctly, "Always" was recorded for "All The Good Shit" but then the record company was like no "Best Buy Only" and Sum 41 was like "Bitch".

lol

...but yea, about "always" that kinda sucks that it probably won't be improved on the new album, but it is what it is. I'm just ready for a new album either way

Don't hold your breathe. I was hoping for a new song or ep in February for my birthday. Still nothing. I would be dead now if I held my breathe this long!

To be exact, it was written long after UH, in late 2007 or early 2008 I think. But the song didn't fit the new songs Deryck had written for the new album, so it would've been just forgotten.
But when the label requested for the best of album, Deryck had an idea to include Always in it, so they recorded it just for the best of album. Without the album, we probably never would've heard that song.
