Sum41 at Hoodwink, doing Metallica covers (setlist!)

Post by ACAx1985 »

A live review (including setlists and photos) of Hoodwink (part of Bamboozle weekend) at Giants Stadium in East Rutherfod, New Jersey on May 1, 2009. The evening featured acts such as Push Play covering Muse, Inward Eye covering The Who, Set Your Goals covering Dave Grohl, The Cab covering Queen, Sum 41 covering Metallica, New Found Glory covering Green Day, Anti-Flag covering The Clash, and Badfish performing a tribute to Sublime, amongst other bands:

If all you want is the setlist, it's here.. some of the songs were only partial covers. Kind of surprised they did "Still Waiting".. it was being filmed, I was with the camera crew. I know there's another thread, but I don't think the full set has been posted before..

Battery
Blackened
Enter Sandman
Motor Breath
Where Ever I May roam
For Whom the Bell Tolls
Stone Cold Crazy (Queen cover)
Master of Puppets
Still Waiting

Oh, Anti-Flag covering The Clash - sounds sick!! and NFG covering Green Day could be interesting too.
I know some lame band also covered Avril Lavigne or something.

yeah, they ended off their set with fat lip
Children of the beast embrace,
To scorn and the human race,
Consume the light that hugs the earth,
And aid the womb in giving birth,
To a group that will appear,
And guide you through this final year,
The dark armies then will come,
When the sum is 41

Whibley’s vocals weren’t up to par, and the guitars just didn’t crunch like they needed to.

heh yeah, actually, that sounds like what people here were saying before the show as well....haven't heard it from someone who actually saw the show though.

hmm wonder why they got to play 15 green day songs and sum 41 only did 9? actually less since none of them were even the full versions from what I hear.

Sum 41 spent about five minutes just talking to the crowd and saying "fuck". Probably could've squeaked in another song.. also GD songs are pretty short, whereas Metallica cuts tend to be pretty long.

Well the people who love metallica and hate/dislike sum 41 are always going to hate sum41's metallica covers.
The ones I heared so far were pretty good if you ask me.
I wonder if it's different without dave though.
