Nirvana like? dislike?

do you guys like nirvana? i like some of the songs but i really dont like kurt cobain because he shot his head off. but they did start off grunge. What are your opinions?

Nirvana is a great band.
Nevermind is absolutely the best record that came out in 1990, if it wasn't for it, music wouldn't be as it is today.
What i hate about Nirvana, isn't in the band itself, i hate that they're overrated, and that despite the fact that Kurt Cobain is an average guitar player, he's often referred to as a guitar god.

I love Nirvana. But they didn't start grunge, they only brought it to MTV and such.
One of my favourite bands.

I love this band. But I don't love them in a way to say that they're legends or anything like that. I just love their songs and Kurt's got a great voice when he actually sings. In Utero was a great album as well. I love Serve the Servants, Radio Friendly Unit Shifter, Very Ape and Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle. But I think Lounge Act will always be the absolute favorite Nirvana song. The bassline to that song is just killer.

good band, way way overhyped though. they wouldnt have this "legendary" status that they have now if Kurt hadn't of killed himeself/got killed. i can see how they influenced alot of people though, i wouldnt go as far as saying they "changed the face of music" but there alot of bands out these days that maybe wouldn't be around if it wasn't for Nirvana

They are a very cool band indeed and I enjoy some of their tunes, my favorite song has to be Heart-Shaped Box. But I hate the facts they are reffered to as legends, cuz if Kurt wouldn't kill himself, they really wouldn't get this legendary status as they got. Also, I too hate the fact that Kurt referred to as a guitar god and as a great singer. He was infact an average guitar player, a decent singer (not that great...) and a pretty shitty songwriter if I may say hahaha, thats my opinion, and after killing himself suddenly he became a guitar god, a guy with a golden voice and an amazing songwriter of sorts, even though most Nirvana songs were stupid (I mean, "Rape Me"? C'mon!)
