Cone Q&A

Hey everyone, I asked Cone (via myspace) if he would do a Q&A for my site like 3 months ago, well after about 3 "reminder" messages he got them answered, he left out one about the congo, but I told him he could leave blank what he didn't want to answer. Its only 5 questions and I'm sure most on TNS already know it all, but I didn't.
(oh and if this should be moved to the cone thread, just lmk or move it..lol)
Cone Q&A
- What led you to choose the bass and when did you start playing?
I started playing when I was 14. I am 28 now. A few friends were starting a band and didn't have a bass player and said if I wanted to be in it I had to be the bass player. Next day I went out and got a cheap bass.
- What was your first year as a member of Sum41 like?
Crazy. I played my first show in Dec. of 1998 with them and then in Dec. of 1999 we got signed.
- Which Sum41 song can you relate to the most and why?
I would say Still Waiting, and Hyper-insomnia-para- condroid. Both describe how I feel.
- In your opinion, whats the hardest Sum41 song to play, and which one do you enjoy performing the most?
Nothing is crazy hard but maybe Bitter End.
- How does your role in developing an album differ from Sum41 to OMD?
Well in Sum 41 Deryck does most of the writing for lyrics, melodies and guitar stuff and then we get together and work out the songs as a band. Thats where I try and come up with bass parts and Steve will put his drum parts together. In OpMD its just me and Todd so we write songs on our own then get together and work on them together by just demoing them in a small studio with no band. Its a little different.
- With the Best of Album being release world wide, what would you consider to be Sum41's most memorable achievement?
I would say that the fact that we are still together making music and touring is the biggest. Alot of bands that started around the same time have now broken up.
