nature deceives

The sun set over the harbor today
A multitude of colors reflected on the water
from the brilliant shining sky

I was there alone
sitting on the empty dock
looking down at the sea
nothing looked back at me

so I turned my face toward the sky again
let the beauty take charge
and I lied to myself
that it will never be gone

The birds that flew
in the salty air
seemed to laugh at me
but i didn't seem to care

because i had this one thing of beauty
reflecting on my life where i'm not
and i lied to myself
that it will never be gone

i let it consume my senses
and i closed my eyes
trying to fall asleep
before the evening turned to night

and I held onto the one little lie
that my happiness will never be gone
and it's keeping me alive

That's really beautiful. I see a connection. "The birds that flew in the salty air seemed to laugh at me but i didn't seem to care," gives it away. Great poem, just great.
