So, I'm reading this book called The Demonata - Lord Loss. its the first in a series of books about a boy who's family is killed my demons, its actually pretty good. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Demonata

Well, in this book is a character named "Billy Spleen". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_%27Bill-E%27_Spleen

And the book art reminds me of DTLI? cover art.

Yea not sure if theres anything to it, but I thought it was kind of cool.

wiki say that that book was released in 2005. 2 years after DTLI? maybe the author and/or illustrator was fans of sum 41.

Before seeing the date it was released, I was going to mention that, since Stevo likes reading, maybe he got the name from the book? But now after seeing the date there's no way.

I guess Darren Shan COULD be a fan of the band...
And he was 32 when he released the book, and 30 when DTLI? was released.
So not too old to like Sum 41... I guess.

Or maybe Billy Spleen is just a name he wanted to name the character? Even though the surname 'Spleen' is pretty uncommon, if there IS such a surname. And it's a little too much of a coincidence that he was BILLY Spleen, not Ryan Spleen or Bob Spleen...

Meh. I dunno.

I actually do find a resemblance in the covers, they both have a hard black shadow and the colors are bright and they both have that 'old' feel to them.

Cool find. Maybe we should ask the Sums if they know anything about it that someone used the name Billy Spleen haha.

That's pretty cool. I'll write a book one day and one of the characters will be Mr. Amsterdam and his girlfriend with be Crazy Amanda Bunkface and they'll have a kid who I'll name Second Chance for Max Headroom.
