NEW SONGS, NEW THEMES, NEW FOCUS.
something very cool has been happening. 1) i've been writing a lot lately. 2) just like on every album we put out, my writing process changes every time. and to be honest i'm not sure why. it just kind of happens. the cool thing about this time is that for some reason everything is coming so natural and i really am not thinking about any of it. and so far i have about 16 new songs and every single song i have, i'm singing about things that i've never talked about before on any other album. i guess i'm telling you this because i'm actually surprising myself. and at this point i wasn't really expecting that. there's not much else to tell really, other than i'm starting to get really excited about where these songs are going. musically we're going somewhere different and now lyrically it's totally different. but i really feel like it's working well.

Does that really mean 16 new songs ?

Would that be 16 songs in total, or these 16 and the other ones from the past few weeks?

That's kufuffin, but it would be fucking AMAZIIING. The Sums would definitely get the spotlight.

This should be good! I remember they recorded pretty fast without thinking that much when recording DTLI?, right? And that album was epic. Imagine they've gone a bit back to their pop punk-ish style? I would love that! I doubt it though. They keep saying it's a mix of DTLI? and Chuck. But seriously, I do miss that style from them.

If this album is going to be UH2 than I'll loose my faith in Sum 41. It hurts me to say that, but I didn't like UH that much. Im soooooo down with a DTLI? and Chuck combo. Those are the best Sum 41 records!

Naa, it won't be a UH2. Or a DTLI2 or a Chuck2 or a Does this look like chuck or someting like that. He speaks from musically a diffirent style.. And lyrics.. Maybe he's making classic music?

yo! we've added a few new shows. we decided we wanted to take a break from recording our new album and get out and play a couple of small club shows. we've posted them on our sites. they're going to be small, cramped and really fucking fun. the type of shows we haven't done in a long time! can't wait to see you guys there. deryck
