Sounds cool. Kind of the same feel as Devil in a Midnight Mass. At least the riff.

Awesome, new Billy Talent to look forward to as well!

Billy Talent are an amazing band! Can't wait for the album!
Wow, I hope this dude is right and that the album will be really released on March 31st!! That could be awesome and it'll be Q1 2009 like they always said about the new album. On the other hand, since then it was already said that the album won't be out before June, so I dunno...

just a couple updates/ interviews posted on the (fail-tastic) billy Talent Official forum:
Access All Areas.net.au: Hey Ian, How is it going?
Ian: Hello, I am going great thank you.

Access All Areas.net.au: How are the rest of the guys?
Ian: They are all doing really well, we are in Melbourne right now and are getting ready to play Hifi tonight.

Access All Areas.net.au: Your currently on the Soundwave tour, how is that going?
Ian: Great. It's good to get out and play. It's been about 8 months since we have last played so we spent some time hanging out and warming up.

Access All Areas.net.au: How have you been handling the hot Australian summer?
Ian: It's not as bad as I expected it to be. I have experienced worse. The Van's Warped Tour is just so hot and especially in some of the southern states where your in the middle of nowhere and so far away from water. But, here we are close to the ocean and it's nice.

Access All Areas.net.au: How have you found the crowd reaction to your set?
Ian: Great so far, yeah it's been good. We have also been able to get out and meet a few people to which is great for us.
Is there anyone you have checked out at Soundwave that you haven't seen before?
We are actually playing right after Bloodhound Gang, So I get a chance to see there set before we go on and they are great. I got to watch the bass player chug a cup of beer, puke it up and then chug it again.

Access All Areas.net.au: You guys revealed a new song at Brisbane Soundwave. Does it have a title?
Ian: We did yeah, it's called 'Devil On My Shoulder'. Which we originally released as a demo and had our friends from Anti-Flag give us a hand with.

Access All Areas.net.au: You guys have been working on your 3rd studio album, that comes out in June. What can you tell me about that?
Ian: Yeah, we are working with Brendan O'Brian, we have all been fan's of his since high school. He has done some amazing work. He produced so many great bands. We tracked drums and bass at Hanson Studio's in LA and everything else was done at Southern Tacks in Atlanta, He will start mixing in March and it will be out in June. No push back's on the date so far.

Access All Areas.net.au: Can you reveal what the title of the album is at all?
Ian: I can, ya'know I think we are just going to call it 'III'. We aren't very creative when it comes to album titles as you can see. We also have the idea where we might call it "IIII" just so we have have people asking where three is. Haha

Access All Areas.net.au: Brendan O'Brian produced the album, how was it working with him?
Ian: It was really great, we all got to lean a new way of doing thing and we got to play in the same room which gives the sound more of a live element, and I think people will hear that it will sound a lot bigger.

Access All Areas.net.au: How was being in the studio?
Ian: I loved it. I Prefer the studio, some guys like tour. I mean, I love being on the road to. But, with the studio you can play around and get so many different sounds to bring a different feel to each song. It's just something I have always liked doing.

Access All Areas.net.au: Did you take any different approaches this time around compared to last time?
Ian: We tracked drums, bass and guitar in one room. All in separate booths but, I think that was only the thing.

Access All Areas.net.au: Have you been able to take in some sites while you are here in Australia or is it strictly about tour?
Ian: No, we have got to see some places. We went to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane and we got to hold a Koala and get our photo's taken with them. They are totally cute. As soon as I got my picture I changed my Facebook picture to me holding the Koala. Haha.

Access All Areas.net.au: Do you have a favourite song so far?
Ian: 'Devil On My Shoulder' is just so much fun to play live, it's a great big guitar song and I think it show's the direction we are heading as we move away from the punk style of things to the more rock sounds.

Access All Areas.net.au: When you first seen the line-up for Soundwave was there anyone you were really keen to see play?
Ian: Alice In Chains, when we where in high school. We went to Lollapalooza and seen them, back when Layne Staley was still with the band. I think seeing them play is just amazing.

Access All Areas.net.au: Thank you, very much for taking the time to talk to me Ian. I wish you boys all the best for your new album and with Soundwave.
Ian: Thank you, it's been great talking to you.

Interview by Kira Newlands
http://www.accessallareas.net.au/artist ... Talent.php

apparently, it's called "III" and is going to be released June 9th (according to this)

http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=902422

and this was also posted there. this is probably the most fake sounding one.
This was also on wikipedia hahaha deleted already :P
LOL LIKELY FAKE SO DONT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT.

Apparently some one has read next months Kerrang! and billy talent is featured in their with a new album review and the album is supposedly coming out May 26th and the cover is apparently yellow and black with a white sparrow kind of thing on it and a big "III" on the front. Apparently it doesn't even say Billy Talent on the front, just on the spine...and info on each track and a review has been provided.

1. The Devil On My Shoulder (4:52) -
Possibly the best opening track from Billy Talent to date,
this track proves to be a strong track, although the opening guitar riff seems to be different from any other billy talent song so far. Kerrang Gives this track 4/5 k's.

2. Mistakes (6:02) - A song that starts off almost with a march like drum beat and claps, Ben sings over the drums "Mistakes, Head Aches, and Women" around 12 times, fading from a whisper to a final yell when the guitar and bass kick in loudly. The song almost tells a tale, one of heartbreak. An epic masterpiece, Kerrang gives it 5/5 K's

3. Tricks (4:59) - A slow intro to a fast paced song, it starts off with a guitar riff similiar to pins and needles, and gives off the same vibe. The chorus is big and it knows it. Ben sings "Silly Rabbit, Tricks are for fools" over the chorus. Kerrang gives this track 3/5 k's.

4. Pity And Pride (4:12) - A song with very little percussion, this is one of the darkest Billy Talents songs yet. The guitar riff that goes on through the song for nearly 3 minutes with out any bass or drums gives off an eerie feeling, as does the very faint piano riff in the background. "The Difference between pity and pride, is that there is none" Ben sings slowly almost whispering, just before the very faint almost muted percussion comes in. Kerrang gives this depressing track 2/5 k's.

5. Tears Into Wine (3:48) - A solid piece that marks off the middle of the album. This song is a slow love song, similar to Surrender. It's one of two songs on the album that is under 4 minutes, but it feels like it's a lot short than it is. The song starts off with a repetative bass riff that almost seems like it's about to build up to something, but never does. Ben sings over the delayed guitar "Harmony, I can prove, I will turn your tears into wine, and before you know it you'll be fine". We give this track 3/5 k's

6. Pick Up The Pieces (5:39) - A track that reminds us a lot of Sympathy, with fast guitar and bass riffs that just speed through the entire song and a monsterous break down, this track is one of the best one the album. Lyrics include "Pick up the pieces, Where we left off, Some like it simple, Some like it rough". Kerrang gives this song 5/5 k's.

7. Turn Your Back (3:32) - The first single, according the band, this song starts off with a fiesty in your face riff, and political lyrics like "it just don't make no sense, there's a million mouths to feed
We got military action over monetary need" this song seems a worthy choice for a first single. We give it 3/5 K's.

8. Despite Spite (4:02) - This song starts off with a guitar riff that sounds like it belongs in an old western flick, that progresses to jump into a fast paced minor chord progression and a chorus that yells "Take 12 steps back, You've come to close, Turn back...and leave this place" . We give this track 4/5 K's.

9. Sudden Movements (4:21) - A song that starts off with a low percussion sound, and soldiers yelling over gun fire and explosions, with orchestral timpani's in the background and a very dark guitar riff. The song goes into overdrive just 28 seconds into the song and ben screams "It takes two to go to war, so forgive me for backing down". Kerrang gives this song a 4.5/5.

10. White Sparrows (6:16) - The longest song on the album, and the longest song billy talent has done, this is one of the best endings to an album we've heard at Kerrang. An epic intro of indescribable composition, which we won't spoil. This is one track you have to hear for yourselves. 5/5 k's.

Over all we give the album 4/5 k's and highly recommend you pick it up may 26th. It's completely unexpected from Billy Talent...but in a good way.
