I would argue that Datsyuk is the best overall player in the NHL right now.
His skills are just fantastic. Marian Hossa thinks he is the best, and I've been saying that him & Zetterberg are the best duo in the NHL for a couple years now.

The reason Datsyuk isn't known as the best is because he doesn't score as much as guys like Crosby, Malkin, and Ovechkin. He plays on the Red Wings, and no one on the Red Wings has been that much of a major league leader since like the '93 season... because the team plays with 4 lines instead of double shifting the top players... the team focuses on using every single player, and tries to get everyone involved in the scoring.

Datsyuk has spent time with Cleary, Samuelsson, and Hudler... all of which are easily on their way to career years. He's also one of the top 5 scorers right now, but somehow still doesn't get much credit. The guy can actually play defense, which is something Malkin and Crosby aren't very good at... I'm not 100% sure about Ovechkin because I don't see the Caps play much... but Datsyuk also is the reigning Selke (i think that's the award) winner, and doesn't take many penalties... but still has the ability to hit people.

Ohh hell no!

Nolan has expierience, He's played for like 3 or 4 different teams, and he's a well respected player in the NHL. He can hit, score, and fight. If I was a GM in the NHL and had a choice between Dubinsky and Nolan, I would choose Nolan anyday.

All in all

Dubinsky, Nolan<Alexander Mogilny :glad:
