ok so i work at a grocery store, and i have been for 6 months....this is already starting off bad haha
i believe ive been a pretty good employee.
ive only called in sick 2 times then entire time ive worked there. pretty outstanding eh?
youd think theyd really appreciate me huh?

i havent even gotten a raise since i worked there. im stuck at $6.55 an hour

heres another reason i can see they dont appreciate me...

ok last sunday, the busiest day of the week at the store, i worked the 8 busiest hours of the day. since i worked 8 hours, i got a 30 minute break.
fast forward to 30 minutes before im supposed to get off....i still havent had my break
i go up to the supervisor and im like, hey i didnt get my break and im off in half an hour, can i just leave?
shes like no you have to clock out for your break, come back in 30 minutes, clock back in, wait a minute, and then clock out to end your shift. if you clock out and leave now, you wont get paid for your break.
gay as fuck right?
then she looks at the schedule and is like, somebody put down that you already had your break today.
im like WTF nooo i never got a break. and shes like its ok just go on your break.

you see this chick lilly was controlling the breaks, so she tried to fucking screw me out of a break. fucked up right?

that was one week ago today


today, i work again. the busiest day. from 10 am to 4 pm. since i only worked 6 hours, i only got a 15 minute break.


lilly is controlling the breaks once again


it hits 2:45 and im like "naw im not getting fucked over again" so i walk up to lilly and im like can i get my break
shes like yeah yeah your next

15 minutes go by...some diff. person goes on break.
i go up to a diff supervisor and im like hey i need my break its 3 and i get off at 4. shes like ok your next

30 minutes go by, other people get their breaks

once again i go up to the supervisor and im like i need my break im off in 30 minutes

oh yeah your next your next

15 minutes go by

im off in 15 minutes

i havent gotten my 15 minute break

im pissed

i leave

no talking to anyone, i just LEAVE

fuck them right?



i know you all are thinking, why dont you just quit?

you see, my mom is a single parent, raising 2 teenage boys on a teachers salary

obviously, she needs us both working

also, she says i cant quit my job unless i have another one lined up

ive been applying for jobs for awhile now, and i know i can get a job, and so i think i should be able to quit my job now, and ill have a job within a week after i quit. but my mom still insists i get a job BEFORE i quit.







this whole fucking me over with my breaks thing at work is really pissing me off, and im about ready to just say fuck you i quit

You've got heart dude, doing this for your family and all. I know it sucks, but just try and push through for a little while until a new job is set. (Theres no guarantee with this economy, I know personally) That Lilly chick will get hers, just remember, Karma's a bitch.

well if you can find another job, just try to pull through for a while.
but i know where you're coming from, i worked at a hardware store for 2 months where i was really underappreciated and depressed.
it sounds like you're doing decent work there..so you are getting fucked around.
so like i said, try to hold out till this other job comes through, and hopefully it works out for the better.
