So I decided I want to get a Gibson Les Paul Jr. after seeing Brian Fallon use one during a live performance on Letterman. I've always wanted a Junior since the first time I heard one, but I've always been iffy about getting one for whatever reason. Anyway, my dilemma is what Junior to get. And these are my choices:

Gibson Les Paul Junior, Vintage Sunburst, $839.00


Problem is, I find the color really ugly. And I think it's a satin finish or something like that, so it'll get scratched easily. On the plus side, it's cheaper than option 2.

Billie Joe Signature, Vintage Sunburst, $1399.00


I absolutely love this color. Most say it's over-priced, but on the plus side, I'm paying for the color I want, a decent case and Billie Joe's name. I'm not even a Green Day fan.

To some the choice might be obvious. But I want to hear what you guys think.

Yeah, the first one is ugly, so if you really have the money for the Billie Joe sig you should get it, its probably better too, like has some special specs like Billie Joe's guitar, so it has to be good for that price, I guess.

Definately not Billie Joes! I'd never really buy a signature guitar unless it was a cheap one like Derycks because its not yours if you know what I mean. There will always be someone who knows thats someone elses guitar. I dunno I just dont really like the idea of that.

I wouldn't buy either because I dont like sunburst but I wouldnt buy the signature guitar.

^Good Point, but Jeremy has a lot of guitars, and he already has Deryck's signature guitar... So I say, why not?

Yeah that's what I did. I never personally play it unless I want to show it off in a video or something, like I did with my YouTube videos. That's about the most that I play it. But being a Sum 41 fan, it's just nice to have.

Deryks signature doesn't stay in tune and squire's msrp is $500? Rip off.

Test played Billies in a store today it sounds awesome. You should definately buy it.

Okay, so I officially purchased the Blowjob Signature (BJ's, get it?). For those of you face-palming, all I can say is my rationale to buying it was the other option is overpriced too. Brand names aside, it's a guitar with one pickup and two controls. A Telecaster Deluxe has double that, costs $600 - $700 and is still a great guitar. So since both options are overpriced, I might as well buy the one with the color I like.

And the nice thing about this guitar is the Billie Joe's name is on the back of the headstock instead on the front. For some reason, I always find it kind of corny if it's on the front.

I also bit my lip as I purchased the 36-month Gold Coverage. I didn't want to, but I figured if I didn't, they might send me the most defective guitar.

I also purchased a Weezer Blue Album and Underclass Hero tab book along with a Sonoma Wireworks Riffworks Guitar Recording Program.

Now I'm going to have to work like, two weeks to pay this all off!

sounds like it'll be worth it once its payed for. pretty awesome.

I'm actually thinking of buying one once I've got a little more money.
