2008 in Retrospect/2009 Hopes and Resolutions

Post by Jeremy Kill »

Well, I guess this topic was going to be made eventually. Better near crunch time than never! Anyways, how was 2008 for you? Shitty? Pwnage? What are your hopes for 2009? Are you going to have any resolutions for the new year?

As for me, 2008 was decent, probably 7/10. But the last half of the year was pretty shit. I'm anticipating 2009 to be much better and I don't usually do resolutions, but I'm going to try and hold off listening to any new Sum 41 material until it is officially released.

Hahaha. Good luck with that.
My year pretty much sucked. I give it a 5.5/10.
My resolution is to work on an acoustic cover of any song by Sum 41. =D

Haha, yeah I know, I'll probably break that resolution once everyone starts talking about the songs.

You should do an acoustic cover of No Reason. I don't know it would sound, but Over My Head sounded pretty good acoustic.

First half of 2008 - SUCKED
Second half- Pretty awesome, I think!

Resolutions... Whenever I make them, I either forget or don't keep them. Huh, I guess I can strengthen the relationships with new friends.

To me, this year had it's up and downs (mostly downs) but I can't complain.
I really don't go much into the resolutions thing but some of the things I can think of at the moment are: Become a better bass player and try to make my band bigger, try to do better in school (like that'll happen) and try to improve my songwriting I guess.

very good year for me.
1/3 - can hardly remember it. did some driving lessons. started drinking :P [7/10]
2/3 - summer. finally started liking school again. oxegen. turned 18. met the cutest girl ive ever known (still working on that one :P). saw the greatest live band ever. passed my exams. finally found a drummer. [10/10]
3/3 - i actually feel comfortable with myself again at school. my social life is the best its ever been. some friends starting to turn into assholes though. winter = cold, dark, wet, illness, difficult for band practice. [7/10]

i dont like making resolutions, cause i wont keep them, but i do have a few goals where i wanna be this time next year.
- at uni (my first course choice).
- in a relationship (preferably with her).
- part time job.
- playing regular gigs and writing material with the band. hopefully have something recorded.
- have a few films written and perhaps filmed.

- Be better guitarist & pianist
- Drink more than this year

This year was... weird. Both good and bad. Mostly lifeless. Awesomer than any other though.

My new year's resolution: Stop being a n00b. :headbanger:

EDIT: And work on my fucked up first impressions! Sucky social life, lifelessness, and loads of other shit I hate about myself.

Jan-March: starting of school, it was great! everything was alright
March-August: worst months of the year. i hated my class so much, and both of my close friends told me that they're migrating to somewhere else next year.my birthday sucked. joined TNS,it was great :) friendship problems and stuff like that
August-December:sort of had a new group of friends, everything was getting better.just got back from the best camp in the world, and made alot of friends which made me happy! sort of got bored of my friends now :S i feel like a bitch for saying that, but they're just not fun anymore.

i think next year's gonna be great for me! thank god i still have my best friend in the same class as me :)

resolution? hmmm, to be happy everyday :D

2008 was... I don't know, it had good and bad times. In spring I was so full of school and some people in my class. Summer was fine. I made some new friends. In autumn my dog died, I joined TNS. It wasn't the best year but I guess it wasn't the worst either.

I've decided that next year is gonna be awesome :P In February I'm going to Singapore with my family. I'm really looking forward to that.

My resolution is to make new friends next year.

2008 was shit, so was the year before it, i think that even this year was worse, but i hope the 2009 will be better.

-finally get my long-awaited DSLR
-do better at school
-party more

I think 2009 will be as unlucky as this year, i really hope it doesn't though.
