This will be the official thread of 2009 album previews. Post News you know about other band's albums due out '09. Here are a few I know about already. Mods may update this as you wish.

DNYK=Date Not Yet Known
NNYK=Name Not Yet Known

New Green Day Album-DNYK NNYK
See Interview With Billie Joe Armstrong: http://altpress.com/features/273.htm

311 Album- DNYK NNYK
The band claims on their website that they are "in the initial writing stage" for the next album "so there are no song titles, album title or release date at this time", but that the album should be released sometime in spring 2009. Bob Rock will be producing the album

U2- No Line on the Horizon March 3 2009
U2 originally began work on a new studio album in 2006 with Rick Rubin, although material from those sessions will not be a part of No Line on the Horizon. The band has collaborated with producers Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois from 2007-2008 for the album, allowing them to be involved in the songwriting process. The album was originally planned for release in November 2008, but the band had written approximately 50-60 songs and wished to continue writing.

+44 Album- DNYK NNYK
"Now we are starting to write the next record. We've got a bunch of ideas; a studio full of stuff, microphones, and effects; and a soundboard from 1970s. We're really excited to start putting together a new album." -Hoppus
The new +44 album is still in pre-production.

NOFX Album- DNYK NNYK
NOFX is currently demoing tracks for their next album due out in 2009.[16] According to Punknews.org, Bill Stevenson (of ALL and Descendents fame) will be producing it.[17] NOFX has also recently been added to the line-up for the Warped Tour 2009.

Date Not Yet Known
Name Not Yet Known

Some song titles:

For he's a Jolly Good Felon
It's Not The End Of The World, But I Can See It From Here
Streets of Nowhere
Next Stop Atrocity
f it wasn't for Hate we'd be Dead by Now

They finished new album summer of 08, but they didn't like it so they did some writing and now they're ready and recording! What I've heard, some songs are like their older songs from Start Something and Fake Sound Of Progress, but most of the songs are like Liberation Transmission

Well, I'm super excited for the new Billy Talent album, as it was said many times it'll be out in Q1 2009 around March, but then again, there are barely any updates, and there's still no name nor date even though a single (Turn Your Back) was released back in September. Last update I've heard about this album was like in the beggining of December, Aaron updated on the BT Myspace about some drumming event he will host with the drummer of Goldfinger, mentioning btw that BT are also still working on their new album... so I hope it'll be out no later than March 2009.

Megadeth are also working and already demoing a new album. Dave Mustaine and James Lomenzo said the album is pretty much ready so they'll be demoing all the tracks now and will choose the ones that will go on the record that will be released around Q2 of 2009. Dave said probably around May-June 2009.

Iron Maiden are also set to release a new album in the summer of 2009. No info at all about that one.

Anthrax - Warship Music
Well, All we know about this one is the name and that it'll be out sometime early in 2009. It is the band's first with new singer Dan Nelson and from what I've heard on youtube, the guy can sing, so it has the potential to be the best Anthrax record in ears, since Joey Belladona left.

Slash's solo album is also supposed to be out sometime between mid and late 2009 and its supposed to be awesome. From what Slash said it'll have a different guest singer on each track. Rumored singers to be collaborating with Slash on this album are his close friends Sebastian Bach, Alice Cooper, Lenny Kravitz and Vince Neil, as well as his former Guns N' Roses buds Duff McKagan (also in Velvet Revolver) and Izzy Stradlin.
There's also a rumored title: "Slash & Friends".

Kiss are supposed to release a new album in around summer or late 2009. They will be entering the studio in January to record the first new studio material since 1998's Psycho Cicrus, after they said they won't be recording any new music after that last effort. Anyway, Paul Stanley is producing it and it has to be good!

It is also being said in lots of places that Deep Purple and Dream Theater will release new albums, as well as Down's "Down IV", a new Alice In Chains album (the first without Layne Staley), a new Rammstein album and a new Korn album (well, I don't give a shit about Korn really hahaha).

And let us not forget Sum 41, EP or LP, its gonna be good! :grin:

Its going to be a good year overall, I think :dance:

Turn Your Back isn't a album single, its a charity single. i doubt that it's going to be on the album. also, i can't remember if they gave us regular updates when they were recording II. i hope their just taking things leisurely, they've had a busy last few years.

Yeah, indeed, their tour supporting II was fuckin' huge as GN'R Use Your Illusion tour back in 1991-1993 and yeah, I don't remember then giving any regular updates in the recording of II, but i'm just saying they said many times the album would be out probably around II and we still don't have an official date or title. I actually do think Turn Your Back will be on the new album. I think they even said somewhere its a new song from the songs they started writing for the third album back in the summer.
