funny this one - think Deryck's been drinking

this is hell song - love this performance

Although Deryck's vocals are far much better now.

I thought did quite a gd performance when i saw them at Glasgow Barrowlands on Underclass hero tour, although I think Tom isn't really that great.

well i think the lead guitarist is going to change alot cuz tom's got his own band, so he can't always play for them. but there never going to replace the lead guitarist permenently.

and i also liked the hell song performance. was that in california?

I didn't mind Tom. Kudos to him for being able to sing more backup vocals than Dave did and being able to pull off those solos.

I didn't like the tone of his guitar though. It was weak. Listen to the live performance of Over My Head at Summer Sonic 2007 versus any live performance of Over My Head with Dave.

thx for feedback so far,

is dave really coming back, where hear that, aaah or just praying? lol

aye Tom's guitar tone i don't like either an yea does have another band right enough, yeah i think they managed to pick gd enough guitarist and pulls it off still, but yeah Dave must come back, he was really unhappy though for while, he said he enjoyed AKNF era, mm an he's metal guy, lol

come back Dave, an all of you make another killer sum 41 album, or get another great lead guitarist, still don't replace Dave of course and write something along lines of Half Hour Of Power/AKNF/DTLI and suppose chuck, cos i loved No Reason, I'll love whatever sum 41 do, new song always i love it, i think Deryck is gr8t song writer, esp lyrically too!

:silly: what's everyone else's thoughts?

I remember someone had an email from Dave saying that he'd go back to Sum 41 if they "started to enjoy themselves again." The thing is, there were probably lots of factors that played into Dave quitting. Not just the music, though that would have been the main thing.

I don't think Dave would go back to a band that asks their fans to vote for their music video on TRL to try to get it to #1.

I can't argue with that.

Well theres no more TRL so they don't have to worry about that!

i dont mind Tom at all. actually i like him a lot. definitely give him a lot of credit for being able to pull off the solos as well as everything else he's doing to help Sum 41.

i doubt they will ever replace the lead guitarist spot though. yes, they may go through more of them because Tom does have Gob, but overall i can never see Dave's spot in the band being taken over.

and we never know, they could always end up losing Tom somehow and have to get another guitarist, and it could be someone just as talented as Dave is/was. bands constantly go through line-up changes

Ofcourse Tom deserves credit he can play awesome guitar. But I think he should do it somewhere else and not on stage with sum 41. Everyday since Underclass Hero, Ive been losing my faith in sum 41. Everyday just a tiny little thing (I still love them more then anything). But UH was too soft for me, they need to go back to DTLI times. and get a tour guitarist like Ian D'sa. He is a perfect kinda person to be in a band like Sum 41

Yeah, if Billy Talent were ever to go on a hiatus of some sort, Ian should be touring with the Sums, hell, I don't even mind him joining them, he even looks a little bit like Dave haha, but then again, I also like Billy Talent and I would like them to continue making music. Plus, I think Billy Talent even broke Guns N' Roses' record of touring, they toured like since the beggining of 2006 through 2007 supporting their II album, hell, they toured even into 2008, with their last shows being the last September with MCR, they fuckin' toured for two years, the only band that did some much constant touring without a break was Guns N' Roses back with the Use Your Illusion tour from 1991 to 1993.

Yeah, Tom really does sings too loud as for a backing vocalist in Sum 41. I think he feels he's the lead vocalist sometimes haha, but he forgets its not Gob.

I think Cone should just sing backing vocals.

I wish Deryck would let Cone do more...like more Bass Solo's, and let him do backing vocals...unless Cone dosent want to.
