what do you mean by that? there's alot of basic not power chords that won't sound good in distortion, like the power chords.

Yeah Deryck does that on a few songs. In Over My Head, he usually plays a D/A chord instead of D5v.

Don't worry, I had to look those names up from one of my Sum 41 tab books; I'm pretty crummy with chord names too.
D/A
e|2
B|3
G|2
D|0
A|0
E|--
D5v
e|--
B|--
G|7
D|7
A|5
E|--
I'm pretty sure D/A is pretty much the same as Dm, except you don't strum the open 5th string with Dm. All chords including "5" are powerchords and the "v" (Roman Numeral) just tells you the fret that it's played on.

some good sites are:
http://www.8notes.com/guitar_chord_chart/
http://www.chordbook.com/guitarchords.php
http://www.all-guitar-chords.com/index. ... FA&get=Get
Chords have familes, Major, Minor, Augmented, Add, Suspend, 4th, 5th etc It's lot to explian
Great books i have and recommend to get are:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Guitar-Chords-E ... 998&sr=8-1
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fretboard-Roadm ... pd_sim_b_1
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Guitar-Scales-E ... 065&sr=1-1
I bought most of them out shop called: The Works part from Fretboard Roadramps, which i bought off amazon.
Scales are gr8t thing to learn, can be pain, but can really improve you're guitar playing.
