Does anyone know why Sum 41 are in the thanks section of Simple Plans album??

I saw it int he shop today and read the thanks section and they are in there as "Sum-41".

They thanked them in their first album "No Pads, No Helmets, Just Balls" (wtf?) because they consider Sum 41 as one of their biggest influences, or at least they did back then. Also in their song "Grow Up" one of the lyrics say "GC, Sum and Blink and MXPX rocking my room."
Someone told Sum in the Q&A once "Simple Plan actually thanked you in their first album". Steve's answer was "I think they just thanked us for lending them the balls." Actually, I don't think Sum has ever shown appeciation to Simple Plan. Once they were asked what they thought of Simple Plan in an interview. Steve said something like "I think I rather eat balls than having to listen to Simple Plan's "I'm Just a Kid."" Can't say I disagree with him.

i swear sum 41 thanked simple plan on one of their cds. if not than i know for a fact that Gob has thanked them(simple plan) on at least 2 of their cds

haha thats awesome. yeah simple plan following sum 41 is funny. i mean listening to sum 41 and then having to listen to simple plan. ewww. even if it was the other way around it would still suck cause either way you'd be stuck watching simple plan.

I think they thank sum because sum were a huge influence in their music,
this is a pretty common thing in punk rock records, in the thnx sections of many bands, you will see a lot of other bands listed, the reasons are many:
influence on music, sharing a stage or equipment together, simply being friends ;-)

I could swear there was a 3+ pages long thread about this stupid stupid subject.

Who gives a fuck about Simple Plan?
