Rage against the noobs

I'm not sure where to post this, since Announcements seem only to be for admins/mods, and in Whatever section, this thread would just disappear in the sea of countless threads.
So I consider this being a suggestion.

To my point.
Lately there has been a lot of arguments and fights towards the noobs here.
At the end of the day, it gets really boring and frustrating to read them everywhere.

As far as I can see, most of these fights get started because:

Noobs (re-)posting pointless threads/posts just to get their post count up.
That is known here as spam.
Nobody likes pointless spam.

So my advice to noobs (and also to the ones who have reached 100th post mark) is:

Suggestion #1:

Don't post if you have nothing (new/important/interesting) to say.

This could also work for bumping old threads.

Don't start a new thread about something that has been already discussed.
If you really want to talk about the old topic, then use search to find out if there's been a thread already.
If not, start a new one. If yes, you can bump the thread back by saying something like "Sorry to bring this up again..." etc etc, and then saying something new, important or interesting about the topic.

I've seen numerous threads from last year being bumped with posts like "Thanks" or "I think so too", stating the obvious or posting the exact same thing someone above said but with different words.

Suggestion #2:

Don't bring the old threads up if you really don't have anything (new/important/interesting) to say.

People will get pissed after reading numerous threads about the same topic over and over again.
Also, topic titles like "New Brown Brigade music!" will get people excited, until they notice the thread has been started in November 2007, and seeing the latest post saying "thx" 10 months too late.

There are few members here who keep posting new threads/posts about anything they come up with.
Try to reduce your ambition to post all the time. The post count only has an influence on your rank, not on the respect you'll receive from other members.

Quality before quantity.

to be honest this kinda stuff hasn't really got much to do with whether you're a noob or not. It's just that some people are fuckin' retarded

Or you can look for something that auto close topics older then 2 weeks for example.

Yeah, the recent bumping of old topics and making topics that have been discussed already gets really annoying. I mean, it gives me something to do for sure, but I find myself looking at topics and finding out the latest post wasn't worth the time to read.

And honestly, the "I'm a n00b, lay off" excuse gets exhausted quickly.

Once you've found out you've broken a rule, that would mean it's time to check the forums for a "rulebook" topic. It's almost common sense to learn some ropes before going all gung-ho and hoping no one will bug you just because you're new here.
