so both amazing bands btw

i was listening to letters from god (kickass song)
then i was like...huh, what are the tabs...

then i realized that the tabs sound vaguely familiar......best of me?? so long goodbye???? (solo part)

holy crap, the same chords...basically same progression...wtf

DUDE. There are like 100 different sets of songs with the exact same chord progression.

I love playing Letters to God but... I don't think they have the same chord progression :(

Letters to God is the best BCR song imo. It always reminds me of No It Isn't by +44 for some reason though, not any Sum songs.

It's not a problem when bands have songs that share the same chord progression.

It's a problem when a single band has an album full of songs that share the same chord progression.

I think Sum 41 is better, but only because they have written 5 studio albums, I can guarantee you if Boxcar Racer was around as long as Sum 41, they would be so much better. Then again, Boxcar Racer wasn't meant to be a long term band, just an experimental phase for tom.

Its not like they purposely used the same chord progression. I'm sure they both found the chord progression on their own and it just turned out to have been used before.
