When you are making money for people that only care about just that, sometimes you need a break. Don't ever be afraid to play live, it's the essence of who we are as musicians. he sounds very belittling of sum 41. it hurts me that he disliked them that much...

He doesn't dislike them. I just think he came from a different background and such.

Someone in the Spanish board once asked him if he'd ever come back to Sum 41 and he replied

"Of course, but first they need to start enjoying themeselves again".

It's good to know there's (few) hope of him coming back

i don't really think he should come back. it would just destablize things in the band more. and besides anyone who seems so belittling of a band, should not be in it. it just doesnt make sense. i think sum 41 is doing fine without him. And the are still sum 41. i've heard alot of people say that its not sum 41 with out dave and that just not true.

yeah theyre still sum41, but look at underclass hero! without dave's solos.. its not as good as their previous albums.dave and steve prefer metal over punk rock but deryck and cone prefer punk rock over metal. MAYBE, it's because dave can't express his uh.. 'talent' because deryck writes most of the songs? i don't know. i really think he should go back to sum 41! and i realised that in most of the live videos like winterjam or any other live concerts, it doesnt really show dave's face, even when he's solo-ing.

oh and.. why is sum41.com so dead?

Well that sounds better then when he told a fan for example that he will come back when they'll start enjoying themselves.
I mean, in the beggining when i threw in a sum 41 question he didn't really answer it fully (when the breakup was still pretty fresh and all, and Deryck was saying that Dave didn't really contribute much, etc.), but now like everytime he's asked if he'll come back to Sum 41, it looks like he's always like "Yeah! sure. i'm sure i will one day. I think i will, it 'll be cool" and such, and i dunno if any of those real, but he seems more excited in this last email. Never heard him saying that he left Sum 41 to take a break from record companies and all those who want Sum 41 to make money. i know he said he didn't like it Sum being too mainstream but i think he was leaving for good and doing his own little Brown Brigade because of it.
Maybe now when all of the guys from BB are pretty much busy and they can't record and stuff, and Dave plays with those little bands (those Organ Thieves) he started appreciating Sum 41 more haha.

Anyway he should like contanct Deryck or something :O
Sure Deryck will be like "i dunno, man" and all in the beggining but i think he will definitely say yes and they should meet and talk how to do the next sum 41record.

Wow, I emailed him a long time ago, got nothing back.

I just don't see how it would work with him coming back. it would throw everything off balance, like when he left, and they would have to reorganize themselves, and do it all over again. and i just don't think they would want to do that. I don't even know if Sum 41 would let him back in, if he wanted to come back. Which i really don't think he does. the belittlement ( i know im saying that alot) of the band that he had been with for, what, seven years? is starting to get to me. it just doesn't seem to me that he should come bck. i think he would end up leaving again, because he decided it wasn't metal enough or something. i know i'm being a bit harsh on Daves side, and i'm sorry. it just really hurt me when he left. Well ok it hurt everybody...
bottom line is i don't think he should come back.

oh and about underclass hero, i really didn't think it was that bad. It was just really different. And we all know that all there albums are really different, sooo i'm not to worried about there music. i love everything that they've recorded so far.
the tour was suckishly short though...

oh and yes i would love him to come back to sum 41 underclass hero was brilliant but still was lacking somthing so i would prefer dave to come back but most people say its a dead cause...

exactly kano, dave's not belittling sum 41 at all...he's talking about the record company and music industry guys who just wanna make money of the sums. read the line properly dammit.
