well; i'm an avid wikipedian; and i'm kind of disappointed that the English wikipedia's entry on Sum 41 isn't that great.

The italian version is a featured article.

Let's all work together and find anything on sum 41 and collect references. the article needs more references.

go to the article. find an unreferenced claim.

find a reference for it.

update the article...

and having a good wikipedia article means just that.

if it's a featured article; more people will look at it and there will be people who have never heard of them who get to hear about them (and with my awesomeness; i managed to get Sum 41 passed for the WIkipedia CD.. that means the little kiddies at school can learn about the sums!)

I see lots of "Citation needed" thingies but I cant find articles to prove teh statements

I like what you've done so far, but why did you stop?

I didnt have much free time to work on it.

All i did was steal articles from wikipedia and copy lyrics off TNS.

I wanted to put some proper work into it, but i didnt have the effort.

i like the idea of that sum 41 wiki thing; but only if we can make it really good. i wouldn't want every single one to be copied from wikipedia; we would have to copy all the syntaxes and the album; single; and song templates; plus a couple other templates.

but it's a copy word for word of the wikipedia article.

Since we are the greatest sums fansite; we can add a bunch of stuff to it that wouldn't be allowed on wikipedia if unsourced; and even possibly use the sum 41 wiki as a reference in the wikipedia article.

also; we can blast it with media (audio samples; images; even probably video maybe?)
since we can't really do that in the main wikipedia because of fair use and copyright and all that jazz

The article on the band is going to be one of the biggest articles on the site. It was one i needed to put first, so everything would grow around it, and i really couldnt be bothered to write an article that big myself.

And now, looking at the wiki this morning, i see 'D-wib is the lead siner of the sumz ' which was written by Luke The Spook.

Maybe the fact that I've had a bad day could have some influence on my mood, but I found it little bit frustrating to see my work flowing around the net.
Yes, I did see this coming, but not from a member of this forum (no offense by any means) to make a step.
And as the lyrics spread to one site, they will spread very fast around the net.

And yes, technically they are the lyrics from Sum 41 songs, so they are not MY lyrics. But before I wrote them all down, no one had figured out (or at least posted) the backing vocals of T.H.T., Confusion And Frustration, Speak Of The Devil, Open Your Eyes or many others. I'm not saying I'm the genious, but without my effort they'd still be mostly unknown.

So I'd appreciate it if you could remove my versions of the lyrics from your wiki site.
We have an excellent Sum 41 fansite here in TNS, so IMO it's great enough to have the correct lyrics only at one place.
Also, I understand that these lyrics are now property of TNS, and it's great. But still, the staff were nice to give me the credit for them. So, if you don't see the deletion of the lyrics from your site as a possibility, the least I ask for is to give me the credit for them.

And I see I make this bigger deal than it is, so I'm sorry if I offended you or anyone else. I used countless of hours for TNS to have 100% complete lyrics, so I just don't like to see it getting spread without my permission (which might be too much to ask for since they are now property of TNS) or giving me the credit.

*Edit* I've just removed the lyrics for AKNF, but now i've got to go. Tomi (or anybody for that matter) if you'd like to remove the rest of the lyrics, that would be greatly appreciated.

or... i think we should have the 'official' lyrics; straight from the booklet (even though the booklet lyrics are slightly wrong..) and have a disclaimer saying that these are the official lyrics found in the booklets and may not be 100% accurate

but we definately need lyrics one way or another; because that's takign advantage of the fact that it isn't wikipedia; so we don't have to follow copyright rules and stuff.

Sadly, we can't use TNS for sources, which sucks because there's some stuff that the only place i could find it was on the TNS news thing..

maybe the admins of tns that originally posted the news stories can help by posting there original sources.


the article is so close to passing and i would hate for it to fail simply because i couldn't find sources for some things...

(If worst comes to worse; the information can just be removed from the article)
