Very good guitarist, underrated.

His solo albums own.

Check these videos out of him playing:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=RJodwVQK3B4- Exotic clean solo

http://youtube.com/watch?v=XHtfq-ganko&feature=related - Pretty cool song, don't know it's name.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=UVdyHs_IX1I&feature=related - Angel

http://youtube.com/watch?v=Y1stTXLqBCs&feature=related - Him playing the blues

http://youtube.com/watch?v=k7b2LBseQSk&feature=related - Megadeth Medley(Playing Megadeth songs on guitar alone on stage)

http://youtube.com/watch?v=whGfBGoFrO8 - Tornado of souls solo, while he was still in Megadeth(Very good solo)

Ex-Megadeth and Cacophony guitarist, now lives in Japan and records his solo albums.

He doesn't just use the same scale over and over again, like most guitarists nowadays, instead he improvises his work with exotic scales.

Marty Rules!

i lovveveeeeee marty i've been studying his solo albums to try and see what makes him tick.

i really loved him in Megadeth and i wish he would come back. got no bad love for Broderick though hes amazing. same with Drover.

the only guitarist i had a problem with was the one during the Rude Awakening era though.

He's an amazing guitarist and he was a god in Megadeth. his solo albums i like less, but he's still a guitar god! didn't like Cacophony much as well. i guess i prefer him giving the melody into thrash metal  rather than playing with the neo-classical genre.

He was AMAZING in Megadeth. however there were better (Poland). Drover and Broderick are equal with Marty.

^ Drover is equal with Marty? are you kidding?! I mean, Glen Drover was cool enough and all and he was a very skilled and very talented guitarist, but god, his bends were so awful and i saw their live DVD with him and i saw them live in Israel last summer, and god, he ruined some of the better Megadeth songs with his bends that make my ears bleed.

Plus, as a guitarist, he was way more technical than melodic. I mean, United Abominations was a great album, but the solos there were definitely not amazing, not even great, they were decent, and mostly just too technical, which is nothing compared to Marty's great melodic work on such solos like Tornado of Souls or A Tout Le Monde.

About Chris Broderick i dunno much, i just heard he was really good and i saw some really shitty quality performance videos of Megadeth with him from last year, so it says nothing. I guess i'll wait for a live DVD with him to see how much he's good really.

I'd say drover isn't as good as Marty, He messed up the vibratos on the Tornado of souls solo. Poland i'd say is equal to Marty, and Broderick is a little above both of them.

Well i saw Broderick doing some classical stuff and he's a beast on the classic, but i will say my opinion on him as a guitarist when i'll see a live DVD with him, or some decent quality performance. or when i'll just see 'em live next time :D

He is amazing. Tornado Of Souls has the best solo of all music in the world. It's just so... idk. Best.
