I just created a thread about some new bands .. and this one came to mind as I was making my last post. What are your top 5 most anticipated albums of this year??

Given the fact that 2008 is half way over almost.. several of the ones I was looking forward to have already came out.. Including the new Weezer, Coldplay, and Death cab for cutie..

But as for the rest of the year...

1) Jack's Mannequin - "The Glass Passenger"
2) Green Day (Hopefully the plans will follow through and it will come out this year, crossing my fingers)
3) The Ataris (supposed to be going back to their old roots, should be great)
4) OAR - "All Sides"
5) Oasis (i'm pretty sure they're supposed to release a new one this fall as well)

.... And I'm also going to add :
Relient K - "The Bird and the Bee Sides" ... definitely can't wait for new relient k.

Gags.

Jack's Mannequin, Thursday, Taking Back Sunday, Anberlin, Glassjaw, Brand New, I Am The Avalanche, Kevin Devine, Cassino, Straylight Run, Thrice, Manchester Orchestra = albums I'm looking forward to asap. I don't know if they're all coming in 08, but definitely would be rad.

I really dislike the strong commercial influence on this site, and also I can't understand why everyone seems to like the Ataris. They really aren't that great. Did they tour with Sum 41 or something? I have no idea why they'd be on the list..

Both of your lists fail. Do either of you even have depth to your music? It's all commercial rock of the 90s and early 00s. The only relatively NEW band is Jack's Mannequin, and I bet neither knew of them before Jordan posted a topic about the band.

Oasis is like a 2 hit band from overseas (If you live in the US). They haven't been shit since the 90s, yet they still have a strong popularity from people on this forum. OAR isn't that bad, but I am annoyed because of how many bands were overlooked on this list. How can you not be anticipated to hear what Taking Back Sunday sounds like without Fred? That's my biggest "WTF?" about this list.

Stop being so picky and let peter listen to what he wants. Anyways I'm not looking forward to anything this year mainly because I have no idea what's coming out.

the offspring, which i think comes out today so i'll be going to buy it sometime today (hopefully)

green day, really hope they release it this year cuz i've been waiting for a follow-up to American Idiot since they announced it (which was about late 2006)

U2, they've mentioned they'll release it this year although i really haven'r heard much about it lately.

no, i mean. it'd would stop downloading and then it'd completely disappear from my computer. i swear i downloaded it like 10 times and it'd never work. but i was gonna buy the album anyways so what does it matter
