As you Jack's Mannequin fans may know, the lead singer/pianist Andrew went through leukemia a few years ago. I was wondering if anyone has one of the "I Will Fight" wristbands that Absolute Punk made to support his cause. And I'm pretty sure that they're not made anymore, but I've been trying really hard to find one. If anyone knows where I can possibly buy one.

Yea, Andrew is amazing. And I didn't know about AP until after I joined PD which was after they stopped the wristbands

How can you only listen to the singles on albums? I swear to god. I hear that same line "I Woke Up In a Car is awesome", and then I ask "What other songs are awesome by them?" and they're like "Oh, that's the only good song..."
Not necessarely that song, of course, but with most bands I listen to... people at my school or on THIS forum only listen to the singles by and say oh they're decent, i only like this song.

This website is extremely mainstream, yet everyone on here hates the mainstream "emo" music. It makes no sense to me.

Andrew McMahon is an amazing lyricist, and most if not all of his songs are extremely catchy. Hearing his story and listening to Jack's Mannequin brought me up from a not really DEPRESSED state, but not a very great state of mind at the time. I listened to Everything in Transit for about a month straight while I went to bed... and by the end of the time I listened to it, I would fall asleep by the end of the first song... and that possibly explains why Holiday From Real is my favorite song on the album.

Plus, everyone has heard The Mixed Tape or Bruised at one time in their lives... they just are too stupid to realize it.

What I'm being a dick about is the fact that people only listen to the singles. It's not just with this band. It's with every band that isn't a huge MTV publicized mainstream band or an influence on Sum 41's sound. People know the one song by the bands that got the biggest radioplay. Those same people are the people that say OMGZ I HATE EMO MUSIC. I HATE MAINSTREAM MUSIC!

Then I upload albums from bands less known on here in anticipation that people will branch out and listen to something they haven't heard before, and I get like 2 downloads per album.. one of my Park albums didn't even get a download.

My bad. Maybe I'll keep my comments and complaints to myself next time, but probably not.

i can see why you're mad, but then again, you're too mad for the wrong reason. i suppose you just randomly went somewhere on the internet and downloaded a bands discography before you knew what their sound was?

so where DID you first hear "Jack's Mannequin"? the radio? no, couldn't be. could it?

That's actually what I did. I went on AP.net and saw a post about Jack's Mannequin. Everyone was talking about the story and how good the band is. I read about his battle with Leukimia and decided that if he can fight through that and make an album, he's definitely worth a listen. Positive reviews + a fight with cancer = can't suck.

That's what I've done with a lot of bands. I just ask someone "what's a good band?" and they'll tell me, and I'll download the albums. I will listen to anything. It only takes 20 minutes to download an album, so why not?
