im willing to bet money its an SG of some kind. in any studio footage where he is RECORDING he uses an SG. Dave used a green SG too during chuck...it may have been a Supreme. But in the UH footage from the studio, Deryck was recording with what looked like an SG Standard and i think there was a tremelo bar on there. When he plays live though he uses the Teles.

I could be wrong though.

Ye, he only uses his tele's live. 2 things you might want to know:
1 - Cone said deryck bought 30 guitars or something for this album, so it will be hard to narrow it down
2 - deryck has said that he used his guitars that he usually keeps locked in the basement that are like a '60s gibson

True. Those are the only two guitars I have and they sound completely different from each other.

That's an ESP.

For KOC(...megalolz!!), I say, an LP standard but an LP Jr. for that ''Chicka-Chicka''/American Idiot sound, like at the start of the outro.

Yeah, I remember Deryck saying he uses his vintage guitars for recording only. I figured it would be one of his SGs, but I didn't know what specific model (vintage, standard, reissue, etc.).

Just because it sounds like Greenday doesnt mean hes using an LPJ. Its sounds like a Les Paul Standard to me though

It's clearly an LP Jr. It's like one of the most distinct guitar tones ever.

LP Standard for the whole song except for the part right after the second chorus...that's an LP Jr.

I'd ask them, but they never answer any of my questions and at this particular time, they probably won't get the chance to. But maybe if we all ask the exact same question, then maybe it'll get answered, like a 50/50 draw, haha.

Yup, man. Some people favour them over SG's cause they have the SG shape but they don't fall down like the Gibson SGs do.

Just incase you ever want to buy an SG type guitar, remeber teh Viper.

Before they had that stupid catchpa thing or whatever I'd just spam a question I wanted answered really badly. And usually it worked, lol.
