Is there news of Sum 41's touring guitarist Thomas Thacker becoming an official member?

No news yet. And he's still touring with Gob when Sum 41 has day off.

Plus it'd feel too much like he'd be replacing Dave and that would suck.

I'm starting to like him more now that I've seen him dance. I felt so bad for him after the concert yesterday. He walked out of the building and everyone completely ignored him. I was going to go over but he was conveniently on his cell.
So, yeah, I think he should join so I never have to see that image again. There was a guy next to me who called him the "Dave replacement dude".

He did it in Oshawa too. Now he has all these lines and stuff that go with it. "Oh, well, I'm a bit rusty..." "Do something easy then... tell them what time it is." "The clock?" "Yeah the clock." *clock* "That was pretty good... c'mon, show them something better." "Well it's getting pretty hot in here." "It is hot." "I better cool them off. Bring out the sprinkler." *sprinkler*
The crowd loved it. There was a lot of kids in the audience and it was probably the only bit they really understood.

I recognize that bass line during his dancing part. It's the same as in Introduction To Destruction. where that girl had to dance for the rest of the song.
Oh and yeah, I don't want him to join for several reasons:
1. He's already in a band
2. Deryck said that they're not gonna replace Dave
3. I don't like the sound of his guitar AND the way he plays their songs
4. His backup vocals are hardly as good as Dave's (I know that he's the lead singer of Gob)
5. He's not brown
I'm sure there are more, but five are enough I think.

Haha i know it sounds a bit stupid but it just isn't the same without a slightly overweight black guy. :P I know it wouldn't happen but my ideal replacement would be the lead guitarist from Billy Talent.
