This is a topic for the with me video, because its open to several interpretations

okay, so basically i watched the video, and ended up completely confused.
I saw like a random black dude in a tub, which i had no idea symbolized anything.
Then the trees, what did that have to do with anything

any questions/comments?

imo, trees can be used in any video, and would never need an explantion as to why its there...

good music video. kinda pointless. confused me. least favourite sum 41 music video but it still is good

It's jus a video why is everyone trying to find a meaning?It hasn't any secret message or something

i think it shows a different side to sum 41.......and it was FUCKIN AWESOME!!!

it has a bunch of messages in there.

i think that the young couple is a younger version of the old couple. it symbolizes that they have been together for a very long time ("i won't let you go").

the "in front of your eyes/it falls from the skies/ when you don't know what your looking to find". theres a light outside the house which sybolizes searching, and the single people show that love can be anywhere, and everyone is different on the inside.

the staind glass represents pure heart (holliness)

lastly, the clouds speeding past, and the walls full of pictures represent timeand memories.

I think the concept of the video, without the song, is pretty good visually.

But everytime we see sum in it, i start to chuckle cause they seem so out of place...
the video doesn't give the band justice on what they have done and what i think they plan to do.

overall, kinda pointless

Honestly, I didn't think it was a great video. It was a little what the hell, didn't really make that much sense no matter how you look at it, and yeh the hot tub guy reminded me of Dave too.

What i will say though is that I'm so happy they included the piano for pull the curtain at the end, i've always thought it was very chilling ever since Deryck played it in the studio tour and that last 40 ish seconds of footage was truely awesome. Perhaps they'll follow this video by releasing pull the curtain. Now that'd be cool!

OK, you don't have to understand the concept of the video for it to be good, because it's really cool and artistic on its own, but it really helps.

Now I don't get the girl in the fishnets and the guy in the bathtub, but I get pretty much everything else.

The young couple is clearly set somewhere in the 40s or 50s. The appearances of both the young guy and the young girl are also relevant. I noticed that the guy mixed together the features of the members of Sum 41 and the girl mixed together the features of their significant others. Coincidence? I think not. The guy is also way less attractive than the girl, which is clearly just a dedication to the beauty of the important women in their lives.

The older couple is the young couple now. Still together, still happy.

The old guy who's on his own is the same guy who's in the older couple. He clearly mirrors Deryck's position in the video when they're both on their own.

The pictures? Just important to the video, as memories are important to the song.

The sped up outdoor shots just showed the passing of time.

It's not really a video meant for the fans who love the potty humour only to enjoy. It's a mature video that looks like it was very well thought out. I'm sure there's a meaning to the girl in the fishnets and the guy in the bathtub.

what do the laser beams mean? that we're are soon gonna be attacked by an unknown force?

I hope you're not serious. If you are, that was light artistically shining into the camera. They used light a lot and well in that video. That's what artists do. *nods slowly*

I don't think the lonely old guy is the same as the old guy in the couple. Firstly, they don't look the same and secondly, when the lonely old guy is first introduced it looks like he's talking to someone. But when it shows an empty chair across the table it's clear he's got some sort of dementia hence, "pieces of memories fall to the ground."

As for the old and young couple, I think they could just be different couples to show that love is the same no matter whether you're a young couple or an old couple. Or something like that. I guess they could also be the same, but there just didn't seem to be a link in the video that made me think that.

As for the guy representing the Sum 41 guys and the girl representing their girlfriends/wives, I don't know since I only know what Avril looks like and I don't know if the guy's pompadour has any significance, haha. =P
