I really hate to say it but do you ever think that sum 41 copies songs?
I mean mainly their newer stuff. For example parts of confusions and frustrations are almost idenical to parts of aliens exist by blink 182. Also the song take a look at yourself is very similar to welcome to the black parade by my chemical romance (mainly the veses of each) And I just noticed this one but walking disaster reminds me alot of anthem part 2 by blink 182. And the intro is a little like speak of the devil. O yea and someone said that look at me is a john lennon song, and they didn't say it was a cover?
Some others that have some resemblence are house of wolves by mcr and the jester. (not much though). I think there were more too but I forgot. Any way I just brought it to your attention but I have total fathe in sum 41 but sometimes you just have to stop and think.......
any resemblence?

Well dude thats pretty much old news, cuz if wanna look up hard, you can find that every Sum 41 is pretty much sounds like anything else, but so as other bands, if you look closer.
Mr. Amsterdam for example sounds like Offspring's Dammit I Changed Again
The Bitter End sounds like Metallica's Battery. the riff sounds more like Metallica's Through The Never.
oh, and Best of Me sounds like Hoobastank's The Reason.
yet i dont think anyone really cares, cuz the sums do this best! :D

Well, I 't think that Sum 41' "Look at me" is a bit different.

I've always believed that it's not about any one particular element of the music, but about the whole thing that matters.
Just because a rhythm guitar part or a melody or something sounds similar to that of another song doesn't mean it was "ripped off", because if you take every part of the song as a whole, it's all together a different song.
Sure, The Bitter End uses some similar techniques and writing styles as Metallica did with Battery, but they didn't literally take the chords out of Battery and re-record them as a different song.
Furthermore, even if Sum 41 intentionally made a song of theirs sound like someone else's song, that doesn't even in and of itself qualify as "ripping off". Bands inspire each other and borrow from each other all the time. If bands never emulated each other, music would never have evolved as far as it has.
As long as Sum 41, or any band for that matter, doesn't resort to straight out ripping entire songs without any of their own creativity involved, which they haven't, I really don't have a problem with these similarities between Sum songs and other songs.

I can't deny that there are some similarities with some sum 41's songs. For me, it's not voluntary. I mean, when you hear a song that you like, you can sometimes be influenced by it without knowing it... It happened to me : i listened to underclass hero, and when i tried to make my own songs, i was in fact playing sum 41's ones ...
