Is his signature squier telecaster worth buying.? I'm planning on saving up for a guitar and I would really like to get that one but I'm wondering is it worth the price or is there much better sounding guitars I can get for the same price.

Well. I got mine. And it sounds terrible.

I think it might be the strings.

i want to fix it up, with some new pick ups.

the one pickup it has imo sucks.

Personally, I would just buy it to use as a beater guitar, back-up/practice guitar or just because it's Deryck's signature. You could probably get a better quality guitar.

If you do decide to buy it and you plan to use it a lot, buy the Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB Model pickup and switch it with the stock HB-102. Apparently the HB-102 is pretty shitty. Plus, the SH-4 is what the stock pickup was based on. Might as well get the real deal.

Super sucky guitar, My friend got one and now i feel sorry for him. You could probably get a way better guitar at that price.

this is the one i was talking about:

i forgot to mention it doesn't have the X's but if you want them it shouldn't be much of a problem adding them.

No I havent but I have played a Squire before. I think they suck. Squires are more for beginners. Deryck said before it came out that they were going to make it affordable, which is why it is a squire. It might still be good though. You never know.

Ive played it, if your a beginner, get it, if you've been playing longer then a year or so, dont get it.

Use electrical tape, it comes in different colors!

The Squier Tele Custom is the closest looking to the actual '72 Tele Deluxe that Deryck uses. It'll be tough to put on one of the X's because of the toggle switch.

Edit: I don't think the strings would be the root of the problem. They come stock with the Fender Super 250L's, which also come with the Fender '72 Tele Deluxe. Apparently they're decent strings from the reviews I've read.
