ya but he just acted like a spazz. he didn't play anything.

and if im not mistaken, it might've been sousaphone. (tuba that wraps around your upper body) or a contrabugle

contrabugle:

Ska is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1950s and was a precursor to rocksteady and reggae.

ok then no. ok the band would have:

1 singer
1 guitar player /back up singer
1 bass player
1 drummer
1 keyboard player
1 Tuba player /backup singer

still could be skaish. i'd need to hear it. do they play like alot of power chords and shit, or alot of higher chords on the higher strings, and little flickers and stuff...ska is basically the one part of second chance for max headroom, kind of.

okay here is why i made this thread.

my friends have a rock band. i want to be in the band. but the only instrument that i can play good is Tuba. they made a few songs allready. its kinda hard to describe the sound. im asking, how cool would it be if there was a full-fledged rock band witha tuba. they have tuba solos it it too.

im gonna ask them if i could be in the band.if they go big i don't wanna be like in 10 years listening to them on the radio thinking, "why didn't i ask? i could've been a part of that."

But a tuba IS a brass instrument...

ya but not brass instumentS. it would kinda be ska but not really. we would probley balance it out by playing more rock-genre stuff.

i think it would be cooler than a voilin (yellowcard can lick my balls) but yeah, if you guys can get into ska, or reinvent ska in away and make it harder, that would be pretty cool

im guessing that for covers it would either be just a double of the bass in some places, and diferent in others. for own songs, it would be the same situation.

on another note:

i read about a band that doesn't have bass but has an "amplified Tuba".

their called Snmnmnm.

seriously.

and this is my 700 psot. im now officially a Goon.
