Still same old Chuck screensaver, though :(

i only see like 2 new wallpapers and they aren't even good.

oh actually there are also new buddy icons... but again, they aren't nothing special.

Is the old slagbook back up and running yet?

Unfortunately, no. I don't see much hope for it now.

Seems odd to me that a band would randomly decide to take down their messageboard, with no warning or reasoning, when it was still a pretty busy board and when they had a CD about to come out....

The slag book was completely dead save for about four members...

There was at least 15-20 members I know of specifically who were incredibly pissed off when the slagbook closed down.

And if that wasn't enough - there's alwasy hundreds of noobs come new-album time, and it's been down since quite a while before UH was released.

By slagbook, you're talking about the forum, right?

and i actually never got to enter it. i never like forums on official site. for example, i never been there, but i'm sure TNS is milion times better :D

official sites forums pretty much suck, unless the band itself gets in there and answers, which rarely happens in official sites forums.

Deryck used to come on fairly regularly in the slagbook...

That's one of my theories as to why it's closed - he didn't like some of our comments following Dave's departure and following some ridiculous and childish comments Deryck made in the board about it.

Deryck gets flack from the fans...and suddenly, within a week, the board is down...indefinitely, and for over a year now...:S haha

What where the things Deryck said? (if you can remember).

He wasn't that immature. He was trying to convince fans that the band would be alright without Dave, and he ended up coming off as a jerk. His amendment to that was very nice and no one gave him any more slack after that.

Except those dickwads who were saying that Deryck can't play guitar. I couldn't blame him for getting a bit angry about that one.

i would like to know exactly what happaned there, and if Deryck wrote there, it could be cool, but if all those fucks you're telling about were such asses and saying Deryck can't play the guitar, i can't really blame him for closing it.

He said Dave had nothing to do with the band. He had no influence on the sound, and he claimed that HE wrote all the guitar for hte band, and Dave just played it.

There was more, but that was what pissed me off the most.

And about his guitar business (SURPRIZE, I was one of the jerks haha)...well...it's true. If he can play all of Dave's guitar...why doesn't he? Why isn't there ANY guitar in the new songs? I'm just saying...

dave said that what Deryck said is ok. that he was just protecting his baby. If Daves can get past it, and is ok with it. you can.

You may have read that in an interview...I've heard it from the horses mouth. He was hurt by what Deryck said. He can understand it, and that Deryck was defensive and protecting his baby, but it still was unfair and hurt Dave.

I am past it, also...someone asked what was said - I was telling them.

Well Deryck really did wrote a lot more than Dave in Sum 41, but still Dave is fuckin' awesome and Deryck shouldn't bash him.

Yeah, I don't understand that Deryck bashed Dave, but still Deryck is proud of making music he wants without thinking if Dave would like it.
So if that was the case, then why bashing Dave for leaving?

Well as guys here said, he just came off as jerk b-cuz of all of those users who started opening posts like "sum 41 gonna suck without Dave" and that Deryck couldn't not play the guitar like Dave and stuff... so i can understand from where is the anger, cuz with Dave or not, they're still awesome, and Dave is awesome by himself.

I don't see what was wrong with what he said, if a bunch of people where calling him crap his reaction would of been a spur of the moment reaction. Deryck obviously can't play all the things Dave did but i think he is still a better guitarist than alot of people realise.
