so i got there at 4:30 (doors open 6:30) i was the 3rd person in line, absolutely no one showed up until the show started. the 2 girls in front of me in line got to meet them which was bullshit bc they were there like an hour earlier. they got us autographs which was cool. we tried going outside to get some autographs while they were, but sum 41's security said "hey you cant go down there, you not in the "group".but we got to hear the the sound check in which they played the hell song and Sayonora.

we got in first got very front row. first band Schoolyard Heroes....SUCKED DICK and were fucking sooo weird (we song the singer down a bunch of pills when we were in line). then was Monty Are I....kinda sucked too. then Amber Pacific played (and sucked.) i caught the drummers drum stick from that band and fought a girl for it. then of course The Sums. purely amazing, cone kept throwing me picks and i kept dropping them lol but eventually i got one. mosh/jumping/rowdiness was CRAZY everything was awesome.

they only played 4 new songs which was good bc the new songs suck(IMO). after the show steve throw his drum stick and it hit my hand and fell. then some guy at least 7 years older than me tried grabbing my amber pacific stick and i fought him for it and retrieved it.

very end of show we go out back to meet the band. the buses were blocked by security and a guy climbed under a traffic cone and was moving his way past them then he got caught lol. i met Amber Pacific's drummer and no one was talking to him at all bc no one cared lol and then i got his stick signed by him...

sum 41 was a no show out back bc it is AVRIL LAVIGNES BIRTHDAY so bc of that dumb bitch being there they were throwing a party for her in the venue when everyone left.

so thats what happened. awesome show (for sum 41) i got some cool stuff too. but sum 41's security and managers do NOT let you go anywhere near the band. a guy who worked at the venue during sound check was heading to the back of the venue to get something and they told him he couldn't go anywhere near the band or the stage so he had to leave.

I KNEW Avril would be there!

And a whole bunch of Avril fans were there and waited for a long time and they met the band.

we didn't see her tho....but it was so gay that the guys didnt come inside where the dedicated fans were waiting. the rest of the people were locked outside waiting and didnt get to come in until doors opened. there were only 9 people inside (3 were me and my two friends). i mean HOW HARD is it to come in and talk with a few fans for a while and sign a couple autographs?

but the fags "in the group" got to meet them...

So apparently some Avril fans who doubled as Sum 41 fans met Sum 41 last night and spent like 15 minutes with 'em.

They weren't "in the group" and they're not stupid, I'm friends with all of them so I'd appreciate it if you didn't diss them.

They stayed until about 1:15, which was when the tour bus left and they talked to Deryck and Avril from 1:00-1:15. Cone was awesome to them and set it all up in about 5 minutes after Steve wasn't able to (because he was under strict "orders" to not tell anyone that Avril was there).

Anyway, yeah, Cone and Steve both came out of the building around just before 1:00 AM, and Deryck would've been out by around 1-ish.

okay, sorry, guys, i'm just saying, like the first poster here was pissed off, that like... all real sums fans are there like 2 hours before the show, and in the end the ones who get to meet the sums are just Avril fans, who maybe share a little love for the sums, not like the real fans.

Anyway, that was really uncalled for, so i'm sorry, i was kinda addressing the stuff kevin5064 said.

i completely agree with you. yea ok they are avril fans but what about the very dedicated sum fans who get blown off by their security/management bc we arent in the "group". then after the show security and management (some big guy who ik ive seen sum around before, wire in his ear) tells us to leave and they are not coming out, and he said they were having a birthday party for avril so we all should just leave.

They always say that. They come out eventually every single time. They always either say "they're not coming out" or "they've already left".

i have met many bands out back after a show. and this was the first time the security was ever completely honest. they would say it as it was. i asked if they were coming out and the actually said "yea they probably will. give it 15 minutes or so" then after 15 minutes then went in said and told us the bad news that they weren't coming out and said we should leave.

and they were pretty much right i meant the show ended at 10:30 which upset em a little bc that is a short ass concert imo (sum only played for an hour!!) and they came out at 1:00? thats a long wait

They usually play for an hour and a 1/2.

It was a bit unfortunate that you got landed with the show that was happening right before Av's birthday party.

yeah it does suck but i AM a Real sum 41 fan. i loved the sums way before avril even came out.

So is Adam (one of the people who met the guys). He loves Sum 41, he's just a huge fan of Avril too.

i dont give a fuck who is friends with who. i hate people playing themselves off as fans of bands or singers to meet thier associates. fuck them.

They ARE fans of Sum 41. They're just bigger fans of Avril. They met the whole band too and got really excited about it.
