its fucked up.
she dropped it on the floor the other day and now it wont work.

everytime you go to switch it on it just shows a picture of a "dead" ipod,
plus you can hear weird sounds inside of it.

has this happened to anyone else? if so, how can it be fixed?

yeah if you drop them they are pretty much toast

what your going to want to do is send it into apple, if its less than a year old theyll take it no problem. then they'll send you a new one

one of the many reasons i hate ipods... they pretty much crap out after the slightest drop... but that image of the dead ipod is pretty funny

my teachers daughter had that problem
and she said she droped it from about knee height onto the floor (on carpet)

and apparently that worked , maybe try it , hope this helps

i think its safer to just buy a new one.

ive actualy seen it work, but yeah, my ipod might break 4 no reason soon as i want a ipod touch ;)

NOTE: Don't drop ipods. they aren't crashproof. people should be more careful with expensive stuff. (i have an ipod shuffle (2nd gen)) so i can drop mine all i want lol..)

my mp3 player has been scratched, kicked, lost and found and it still works great. Highest fall was 5 meters and it didn't do shit to it. It is a cheap and crappy one too, but one hell of a tuff mp3 .
As for the iPod shit, this has happened before to my friends too, they just threw it in the trash and bought the same as i did lol

on the right hand side just put in your ipods serial number which is on the back of your ipod, then it will guide you through the rest, just dont mention anything about you dropping it, or you know anything like that, just say all of a sudden it gave you a sad ipod thing or whatever.

you got that right archos ftw. but uh, i get a free ipod with my mac, and on the back i get a free laser engraving and i wrote "iPods blow"
