wanna get the new iMac that comes with the new OS Leopard in october. it's gonna cost me around £799 - £899 for the spec i want, which is 2gb ram, 250gb drive and 128-256mb graphics card.

the new features and the mac itself look amazing, but i have seen pc's with the same spec for alot cheaper recently

is it worth the less cash buying a PC i've had all my life (and goes beserk and virused up) or spending extra dough for a "claimed" virus free mac?

the very first virus was found on a mac, like last summer or something, but yes, macs DO NOT, in a sense, get viruses, i have never seen a virus on a mac. not only that, they run smoother. everything just works. and if you dont like mac you can always install windows on a mac. then you can like alt tab between windows and mac, its actually very impressive.

nah cant get leopard yet dm_rick =[
but omg the new features look so cool!
for instance time machine, just looks so much sexier than boring old "system restore" on windows...even if it is an emergency feature.

and i really need a good mac for my design work. i use photoshop, illustrator and other programs like msn all at the same time and on a windows its hard enough but i hear macs are great for designing and media, and iLife looks sexy :P

yeah i need a mac for school, i'm going into broadcasting in film television and radio, so its all adobe after effects, final cut, and Avid. but yeah i'm waiting for leopard to come out. and time machine is like 1000 times better than system restore. but yeah, i've already used iLife 08, its really good. but yeah if your going to be using photoshop and stuff, do it on a mac. i cant wait for mine, i'm getting a macbook pro though.

macs dont break down! but if you do have a problem, its usually a send back to apple and theyll fix it. but they don't really break down much. but there is places that fix them like futureshop or best buy. there also is apple stores.

I'd have to agree. people are afraid of changing over to one, they think the worst things about them, but if they actually got to use them they would think different.

I don't like using Macs, I've been brought up with windows I earned a MCDST of Windows XP so I'll stick with Windows for the time being.

wow thats pretty cool, so your certified. but yes, i grew up using windows too, all my life, but i'm getting into film making and its standard to use mac's. so i'm basically forced to. and i'm slowly switching over. and soon i will force my whole family to switch over.

if i had the money, i would definatly buy one. but for the moment, windows will have to do, i don't do any design work, film making etc, and now ive finished school i don't need to work on here, i only use my pc for the internet and my ipod these days
