Photoshop tutorial?

I just got Photoshop and I totally don't get it. Could anyone who does and has skills at it give me a tutorial from the bottom up? I'm still at the point where I don't know how to put two pictures on one canvas and make it look slightly normal.

And can someone give me a from-the-bottom tutorial here? Because I don't even get the site Zam linked me to.
