The End

Well, for some reason I never thought this would happen but here we are - The End of The Sums.

I'm sure they'll be back one day but wow, what a gut punch.

I guess the signs were there with Deryck selling off gear and their catalogue being sold off too.

Thanks for all the memories, I doubt this forum will survive until a reunion given it's on it's last legs now but it's been fun.

I don't understand this and was hoping to find some answers on here and was furthermore suprised by the state of this site.

Anyway this is really out of the blue. Just 2 weeks ago Deryck did a Podcast talking about the future of the band and plans they have, so this seems kinda weird...

I couldn't agree more. This is so unexpected, I have a strong feeling that something isn't right. Whatever their reason is, it's definitely big and very serious...

We'll undoubtedly get dozens of interviews with the band. The press release sounded like a rush job to get ahead of the press.

I'm sure they'll have their reasons. Or Deryck will have his reason.

I know this might sound ridiculous but it is what it is...

Is anyone else feeling really down about the news?? I've been very bummed out this week thinking about the Sums breaking up. When I first heard, I felt like I got the wind knocked out of me...

Yes completely, the band have always been around ever since I was a little kid, AKNF was one of the first albums I bought and it felt like they would always be around. I'd always find other bands, different styles of music, but I'd always come back to 41.
