Post-Rock

Let's have a post-rock discussion. Godspeed You! Black Emperor is probably my favourite post-rock band, and maybe one of my all time bests. Their track 'The Dead Flag Blues' from their debut F♯ A♯ ∞ is possibly the definitive post-rock piece, though I think most people prefer the follow-up Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven.
I'm really getting into Swans at the moment as well. Their two most recent releases, The Seer and To Be Kind, make phenomenal companion pieces as perfect examples of modern experimental rock. If you're getting into post-rock for the first time, I'd highly recommend checking out Sigur Ros and Caspian before moving on to stuff like Silver Mt. Zion, Tortoise or Talk Talk.
