I am from New Jersey and I'm pretty sure some people from this forum are from the East Coast of America as well, so I wanted to say I hope you all are safe during Sandy's aftermath and hope you didn't suffer too much, if at all!

glad you're ok Adam! I've been without power since Monday at 8pm so we're staying at my Grandma's for now. a lot of my friends weren't as lucky though, they lost a lot :balling:

Yea, same here. It's unfortunate. The storm was definitely much stronger than I expected.

Glad to here that you all are alright. I'm from Florida and we barely got hit. I never thought that hurricane would do that much damage up there.

Yeah, glad to hear you guys are ok. SC only got wind, one tree down in our yard.

I know it's a mess up there right now. Can't believe they're running that marathon.

What I don't understand about America is why doesn't the government build stronger reinforced houses. Alot of the houses I saw on the news were comprised mostly of wood and little concrete.

They'd probably call it communist government intervention.

Anyway this is hilarious: https://twitter.com/HurricaneFollow

Probably cause those houses are pretty old, the skyscrapers can take a hit cause they're newer.

It's true. Some of the new skyscrapers in the city are built to last through terrorism attacks.

Yeah, we could see that 11 years ago.

Last year was REALLY bad for me. I was out of power for a week and there was snow. I moved to South Jersey for work and this year it was just very heavy wind and rain. Power went out for a hour or so cause I have solar. But my cable/internet was out for a day. It's really bad in North Jersey. My best friend told me starting today you can only get gas if the last number in your license plate is odd, tomorrow even, next day odd, and so on. The wait is 1-2 hours and you can only get $10 worth of gas. It's really bad, and there's around 200 people waiting for gas and there's only one gas station that's getting gas.
