I've been meaning to listen to them, but like all bands I mean to check out I procrastinate because I don't know any good starter albums.

Any recommendations for them? I hear plenty of good things about this band.

This album is terrific! Full of great songs and musicianship. I can see how some people may not understand this album though, it's pretty technical and full of time signature changes and such so it may sound odd to many. However if one likes punk and trash-metal mixed with unusual time signatures and scales this album is a must!

Well they've never made a bad album in most fan's opinions. They started out with kind of a Canadian NOFX vibe, but gradually evolved into the melodic prog punk/metal behemoths they are now. They're past two albums (Potemkin City Limits and Supporting Caste), along with Failed States which came out yesterday are absolutely beastly. Here are two good songs to get you familiar:
