2 questions: how can i have a GIF File as my avatar? it always seems to be way too big

2. How can i put a .swf (thing made in Flash) file into my sig?
or what type of file do i have to save the thing as to be in order to get it into my sig? and where should i upload it.

to make a gif smaller, get something like, image ready.

and i think for the .swf, you need some site to host them on.

for my avatar i went to http://www12.lunapic.com/editor/?, which is pretty simple to use.
but, to get it under 49kb, youre talking about 5 frames at the most (it depends on the quality of the images)

grrrr. 5 images... i geuss that's enough for an image of the dancing anarchy mascot or stevo drumming or something like that.

for the anarchy mascot i use like 40 frames

for a flash sig, upload it to an image hosting site (photobucket, etc.)
then you put this in your sig:

i just figured it out yesterday. upload your avatar to photobucket etc.
then copy the url into the "Link to off-site Avatar" section

how do you create flash sigs that, when you click a certain area a flash movie plays, then returns to normal? (confused yet?)
kinda like the way erikj9 has his sig
