Anyone remembers this?

This was only two years ago but so much has changed in the band since then, the most obvious one is the way they look. They actually look pretty normal here but nowadays they seem to be going all out on the rock star attitude.

I also remember everyone being nervous as hell before this show in case they would try to cover Metallica with the shitty UH guitar sound but i think they did rather good.

Holy shit yeah I remember when I saw that live, it was in the beginning of the SBM tour and I hadn't seen any videos of it or anything. It was so sweet!

Yes. That's why Tom is singing it live.

Honestly I'd be disappointed if I went to see Sum41 and all they did was cover Metallica. You don't go to see Sum41 play Metallica songs, you go to see Sum41 songs!!

I still have that on my iPod, wasn't there a part that they didn't upload?

Well, they played like 3-4 songs in that show that never got posted. :sosad:

But to be honest, I really prefer Sums' versions of these songs. The originals just don't have the same feel that is present with Sum 41.
Same with Gob's Paint It Black. After listening to Gob, the original feels like it lacks of something.

The only song I know of that never got posted is wherever I may roam

the thing with those metallica songs and paint it black is that the originals were recorded a long time ago.. they don't sound as smooth and solid as the Sum 41 versions.. (The unforgiven II by metallica is one of those songs that does sound smooth and solid, which makes me like it more)

The same thing goes for Sum 41.. HHOP and AKNF just sound a lot sloppier compared to the other albums..

I agree, the quality of the recordings play a major part for me. If they were re-recorded today, that would be another story. But Paint It Black by Stones seems to be too calm/slow for my taste, so I would probably prefer Gob anyways. Hard to say about Metallica/Sums.

Yeah, HHOP/AKNF/DTLI don't sound as "deep" as the newer albums. But that's not the reason I don't prefer them over the new ones, it's the style. My musical taste has grown along with the evolution of Sums, so I'm now more into the UH/SBM depth than the good old pop punk.

you guys are so wrong, the old metal and rock n roll is the best ! :D

but no, srsly, the reason why you like it more than originals is because you LOVE Sum 41, and both you and Tomi don't listen to 100 of other bands, it is easy for you to say that Sum 41 is your favorite band, or the best band on this planet, that's why you like it more ...

or it also may be the smoothness XD

btw: don't take it like I don't like the covers, they're some serious stuff and Sums did a really good job and I really like their version, just like the old versions better

This. Although, one or two songs or even the Medley they've done before is acceptable.
