Can someone please explain to me what Spotify even is? I know it has to do with music, right..? Why can't you sign up without having an invite?

It's a freemium service that lets you listen to a vast library of music for free, supported by ads every few songs or you can pay a subscription fee to remove ads and to be able to use it on your mobile.

So you have to pay for it if you want to use it on you're mobile?

Well. It's legal and it's free. AND artists still get paid for it. So... Much better than your douchebaggy alternatives.

I pay for mine but only the £5 package. Not much point going mobile when I have mp3s and ogg files.

Agreed but Spotify doesn't charge extra just mobile streaming. You get other extra features one of which includes 320Kbps streaming.
