Well, the picture is uploaded by Top Spin Media, which sounds very legit to me.
Also, the blank t-shirt and different bundle packs make it more valid.

Anyone else feel like maybe the Sums couldn't finalize everything in time? We all know how bad they've been about timing with SBM (album delays, single's delayed iTunes release, 2 songs recorded at the last minute). Maybe island just put their foot down.

Well yeah, you're right. As the Island saw it, they already had an album ready for release. But then Deryck decided to record two more songs, so obviously it changed the release plans for Island.
But since then it's been all up to Island. The album was fully recorded in July, so Island should've had enough time to get everything ready for the release. The release date for both the album and for the single were label's decisions, not Sums'.
Also, this deluxe edition didn't include any material that would've been up to Sums (like a making of the SBM video or something). I highly doubt that the Sums themselves would've made a 53-page C.S.I. package.
So what I tried to say is that Sums delayed the album release by recording 2 exra songs, but since then it's been all Island's (lack of) efforts.

I agree with Tomi, Island didn't make any efforts for Sum 41. It's music business, and unfortunately (or fortunately, it depends), artists like the Sums who don't sell records are put in the background. I agree, Deryck's reaction to record 2 more songs before the planned release was not the most clever thing to do, but still, the lack of promotion, the fact they made them pay to finish the record is really disturbing me. Well, at least they have Justin Bieber...
