Well I finally learned how to sing and play guitar at the same time (kinda ) but I was told that singing from your throat is not the right way to sing and that singing from your stomach or chest was the right way. So I'm just wonder how do you do that, I tried looking up on how to sing from your stomach but every website I go to has different way to do things. So what I'm really trying to say is how to sing from your stomach? Please and thank you

God I'm terrible at explaining things but I'll try. Obviously, you need air to sing, pushing from your stomach or diagram makes your voice stronger rather than just 'singing from your throat'. The more air, the stronger the note will be. My vocal teacher always says "More air" if a note I'm hitting isn't strong enough.

legit, sum 41 is maybe in my top 5 artists, and i realize there are a shit ton of more talented bands out there, but "crash" alone changed who i am as a singer. like the way he annunciates "time" and especially "goodbye" in the first verse is a perfect example of this. the vibrato-ish effect he puts into those ending notes is just beautiful and definitely comes from the chest and torso moreso than the throat. like when i sing in that fashion, i find myself twitching a bit (kinda like how kobiashi does while eating hot dogs if that makes sense). also, it's def important to sing w/ some swagger. brad nowell taught me that. like listen to this part at about 1:30 when he says "ain't no waaaaayyyy, no way to shop," he just puts so much badassery into that line. the truth is there's no right and wrong way to sing (save rebecca black), just whatever you do, try to sound unique.

and as far as practicing goes, don't waste your time and money on fucking singing lessons. just wail your lungs out in your car.

What Sarah said and I too got better at singing by belting KT Tunstal and Avril in my car...haha

and yes, Crash has some amazing vocals, also the end of Skumfuk. That whole album has his best vocals
