it would be nice if we can find LP and avril

Do you think I could get a license for one of Sum 41's song from this Agency Group site?
I would like to use a Sum 41's song in my exam's shortmovie, but I need to get a permission, a license and I don't know where and how I could get. A few months ago I wrote to Island Records, they said I should try at Universal Music Publishing Group but I don't think they even have rights over the band. Sum 41 isn't in their catalog either.
So maybe I should try to write to Agency Group or do you know other possibility?

you would need to contact the Universal Music Publishing Group if that's what Island Records are telling you to do, they own Island Records and as such ultimately own the rights to Sum 41's music. The Agency Group would have nothing to do with stuff like this, they're the band's booking agent, promoter, they organise and promote the tours.

Yeah, I filled out a license requesting form but I haven't got an answer yet. But I guess there's no other way.

anyone else you go to will probably just tell you to go to the Universal Publishing people, they are probably the only people who could give you the permission. the only thing I can suggest is to keep bugging them!

But it's weird that I don't find anything about the band on their site.

the only thing I can think of is that website only lists the artists directly with Universal, but they also cover all the artists signed with all the other labels Universal own, they just don't list them on their website.

We're making a festival in Egypt so i wanna bring a good music to it ... i hate arabic music and i'm a manager in this festival so i thought of bands like those
