A Farewell To Remember

How many years has it been
Since we last crossed paths on that snowy December night
It was a farewell to remember wouldn't you agree?

Yeah I’m still standing here the same place where we met
On that windy Spring day of May
I still remember the smell of cherry from your hair
And those death like glances you shot me when you saw me stare
How could I forget the red dress you wore
The way you smiled and how my heart sunk to the floor

But that was then, this is now
We've grown apart without a doubt
We were so certain of our future
Never could I have imagined it would end in so much torture
A twisted heart, a cynical smile
You became the judge presiding over my trial

Can you hear me calling out to you
And everything I’m saying is true
Sucks you’re the judge and I’m a witness
Cause you choose what you want to do with me
Once you've locked me a way and done all the damage
Would you regret it, how would you live, how would you manage?

But that was then, this is now
We've grown apart without a doubt
We were so certain of our future
Never could I have imagined it would end in so much torture
A twisted heart, a cynical smile
You became the judge presiding over my trial

Now you’re gone forever
I look up to the heavens and hope you're doing better
I realize you were troubled while we were together
I should’ve helped, I could’ve made it better, I could’ve helped
But you’re gone now, leaving me with a feeling I’ve never felt
Just another shitty hand I was dealt

But that was then, this is now
We've grown apart without a doubt
We were so certain of our future
Never could I’ve imagined it would end in so much torture
A twisted heart, a cynical smile
You became the judge presiding over my trial

I'm sorry we had too many misconceptions
After all we're just human, far from perfection
And I should’ve been there for you when you were lonely
How was I supposed to know
Those accusations were you crying "hold me"

But that was then, this is now
We've grown apart without a doubt
We were so certain of our future
Never could I’ve imagined it would end in so much torture
A twisted heart, a cynical smile
You became the judge presiding over my trial

Now I’m left looking at this mess
So distraught, so numb, so dead
This car crash, what a fucking wreck
But we'll rise from the ashes every time the car crashes
Such a slippery slope, with ice on an empty road
A sudden glimmer of hope
That you'll be the star that guides me home
That you'll be the memory that pulls me through,
Through the bad times, through the good
I’ll join you one day, I promise you my word is good

For the five hundredth time. Nobody on this site cares about lyrics. They really don't know how to judge and make constructed criticism on the lyrics posted in here. All they know how to do is say "oo0o0o I really like the chorus!" or "it's good!" You aren't getting anything out of your posting lyrics here. Take time, get to know the rest of the forum man. There's more sections on here than this one. Check out the rest of the site. Damn.

I agree. If you want to impress us or something, try recording stuff and making an actual song out of what you write :silly:

I think it's good besides it's length, it's too long.

It should me more simple and clean

You know what? You can't speak for all of us. We have our own say in things. Post count is not proportional to mental capacity.

Anyway, loving the creative juices flowing here. :winkwink: Possibly a tad cliche in parts, but it seemed really heartfelt at times. I can't sing or play instruments, but I like to write anyway. Get it out of my system.

i agree about length. i never read lyrics because they're usually too long. this was no exception.

As correct as you may be, I could locate dozens of threads in this section that prove my point. The key reason why anyone has commented in this thread is because A) this website is somewhat slow currently in terms of things to discuss. B) this topic has been a "new topic" for a couple of days now. C) I'm jumping in here talking about how nobody cares, and nobody knows how to respond to lyrics, which probably make people WANT to prove me wrong.

At the end of the day, you can go down the list and see a lyrics section full of threads with between 0 and 5 responses. It's somewhat pointless to even post lyrics unless you're looking for someone to say you are the next Jesse Lacey or something, because I rarely see people making negative posts about terrible lyrics on here. Most people just come in here and say "wow ur so g00d" or whatever other quote I've posted in the past.

At the end of the day, nobody really cares. And paki did inform me that he would stop posting lyrics, but then decided to post again. I sometimes wish I could ban people from specific forums.

I like the way you think.
