copy right proctection law are on all dvd. is it illegal if i rip a scene from a DVD or scenes from it and upload it on youtube with music playing in the back round instead of the characters speaking. wanna make a music video of a song that goes well with a a series of movies. is this illegal? can i get in trouble?

You'll get 500$ fine for violating copyrights. So I'd think about twice before doing it.

They honestly don't do anything.. worst case scenario is they make you remove the video, and
promise not to do it again... .. . . . .... .
use another account.
I had a Sum 41 video removed for copyright, but only after it reached like 30k views, and thats exactly what happened.

theres tons of people doing it on youtube and getting away on youtube, the older the movie the more unlikely anything will happen.

there's too many people doing stuff like this on the Internet for the authorities to take action on everyone. the worse that will happen is it will get taken off YouTube.
or you get sued.
