A Small Request

Post by Gregorovich »

So I've been using a movie editor for a while now to experiment with editing tracks but the one thing I noticed is that the output quality is nowhere near the input. So what I need is a free program which will allow me to both cut bits off tracks (eg. for Green Day's F.O.D.) and stick multiple ones together (eg. A Dark Road Out of Hell) without any quality loss at all. Hell, it might be as simple as Windows Movie Maker but I don't think so.

im going to use logic pro today to connect the three parts of "Dark Road out of Hell", so it will be 320kps. no need to worry about that. :winkwink:

Would you be able to upload the file to Mediafire or something?

I don't know about sticking things together, but you can cut stuff pretty well by using iTunes to change song start/finish then convert the track (I had to do this for F.O.D too haha).

Audacity is your friend, It's a very good music wave editor and will encode to the quality that you set.

You'll need to download this for it to encode to MP3 though.

absolutely.

EDIT: that is, of course, if somebody doesn't already beat me to it...

Soundforge works well too. It's the same as Audacity really, just with a better look
