computer question

Post by sumfan4 »

Hey guys, my old laptop is very fucked up, but I'm trying to get the internet working again. The laptop itself only works in safe-mode with networking. The internet does not work. It says there is a connection, and that the signal is very good, but every time I hit the internet explorer button, it says "cannot display webpage". It's a Toshiba Satellite L305-S5915. Please someone help me out. Thanks.

Figuring out why it only runs in safe mode would be a start.

Uninstall everything you installed since & just before it started doing that, then go through and update/install drivers.

If a computer starts in safe mode then the network driver (internet's TCP/IP protocol included) will be disabled. Do what Jake says or choose "Safe Mode With Networking".

I consider Jake's and Boni's advices useful, but I think that there is not a big chance one of us will help you...you should invite someone over your house, someone who does this kind of stuff ...it is always better when some IT guy can see what the fuck is causing all the trouble ...

It shouldn't be in safe mode at all.

Figure out why, fix it.
